The last time I've ask ruby the price of his mark 3, radial dial was 230$+25$ for DHL
MQ replied yesterday and for the mark 4 posted on the site was asking 420$ DHL included

I saw that you are Italian, mochacha doesn't ship to Italy!
Unless you'll pay 150$ in shipping (or use a middle man)
If bi vintagestore has what you need go for it.
Now he has 2 matte dial and one gilt.
The matte are mark 1 brown long e and mark 2 normal.
I was waiting the month of August because he told me that he could take custom order (I want matte mark 5 dial and I can't find it).
Now he tell me that because of the covid situation he can't take it and he thinks that the situation will be the same until the end of the year...
I'll get one from Ruby.
The prices of MQ are too high for me

Best is of course gen. But the next best would be MQ. Then Ruby and then Rich (MoChaCha). Then raffles and so on.

I’ve heard raffles or helenaru can make custom dials but never tried it.

I’m working with phong or his son or someone on eBay named phong who sells vintage sub dials but he doesn’t make 16800s.

He said he could probably get some made but I would have to make a deposit of $100 bucks or something but he did say I can get the image of the drawing before he has the engravings made so I guess we’ll see how that goes.

Asked if he could make date wheels but he said those are hard to make because it’s hard to source the correct plates or something.

Damn. What dial did you get for $100??

My 16800 dial was about $200... his dials are good for a budget build but they’re OK at best.

Maybe his other dials are better but the 16800 dial is ok at best. The print is not as crisp and the coronet is too close to the L in ROLEX. I’m guessing they used he same engraving or whatever they used for a 1680 or a smaller dial by looking at how close everything is on the dial. MQ is MUCH better but twice the price and no buyer protection.

He did send me a picture before shipping though. So if you ask for a picture of the dial before shipping, he will ask if it’s ok to ship so he does kind of let’s you QC it. You just have to ask to see it before he ships.

I will say, with a little work, the 16800 dial looks pretty good.

Just a little weathering using a temiya weathering kit. Turned out pretty well but you have to be really careful around the text unless you want it to be yellow-ish/ almost gilt color.

I may end up using this and the other 16800 dial I got wit the applied markers.

Looks great. Could you share which Tamiya weathering kits you’re using? I’ve looked them up before, but there are lots of them!
