No point in fixing. New 2555s are about $60. But the labor is a pain. Because of the DWO, the rep DW plate needs to be swapped to the new movement, which isn't a fun task because its jeweled.

Due to the cost of a new MVT being so low and the labor, so involved... these seagull watches are bordering my opinion towards the 21j/2813 watches, in that they're throw aways unless you can do the work yourself.

Hmm.. How easy is a movement swap? I could poke around m2m and see if I can find a new movement

The movement is easy to get, ofrei or cousins. But if you've never worked with MVTs before, I probably wouldn't start with this swap.

Alright I'll take a look around there. I also messaged my dealer to see if I can source a pre decorated one. I would assume if I can get a pre decorated movement it wouldn't be that bad to swap them out? Apologies for the noobness of my questions.

I also had issues with my Pam289. I hand winded mine for a week and it is running perfectly. Before it stopped and i had to knock the watch a few times against my hand to get it to work.

What do you mean you hand winded it for a week ? Just gave it a few winds as opposed to solely letting it auto wind?

Decorated or not doesn't matter much. Its just a faux deco plate held on by a couple screws. The difficult part is the swapping of datewheel plates because there are two pinions and a spring to worry about. The only thing that will make the swap easier, is if you can get a new movement from your TD that has already been modified to accompany the DWO.

Hmm good to know. Been trying to do some research on the movement but its proven difficult. Might just part this guy out. Should be of use to someone who can fix it.

I hand wound my Pam289 fully at least 150 wounds a day and it working without stopping after a week. My pam289 use to just stop like there was something in the mechanism. I opened it and could not find anything wrong. All plates were attched and all screws were in the right places.
just hand wound it fully for a week every day and it has been running non stop for 3 weeks now

Sometimes a little gentle bump with a toothpick on the balance wheel does the trick...
Check for loose screws or try the above before deciding to part with it.
Sorry for your troubles :)

Nadda :( think this one is dead. I spent a solid 5 minutes winding it to no avail as well.

Now this watch is my problem!! Lol so what if you just use the TY2555 date wheel and just pop the movement in there? Will it work? Aesthetics and all aside. I'd rather a watch keep time than to worry about incorrect date wheel font.

Trust me man, if you're going to do it at all, do it once and right the first time. The DW it comes with is white with black print and its too narrow for the window... wrong in every way possible.
