QF is pretty bad as well. And we can see why I never bought the 116509 BTF blue dial either. It's interesting because these factories put out much better ceramic bezels.
King is awful, check this out:
KING
QF
BTF
CLEAN (different model, same bezel)
GEN
The only one that is close, is clean. The rest are wrong. The easiest tell is the "N" in Units. Gen and clean the N doesn't have much of a gap.
It would be great if you could post some pics! I'm tempted by a 116506 for $298 at Trusty, but does it look like a $20 DHGate horror show?I got a King Daytona recently. I wore it continuously for a week and so far,it keeps great time. It was about $200 or so less than a Clean but if I wanted a Daytona as a daily,I would've went with Clean for its better accuracy appearance wise Overall though it seems the King is a good watch
That's great. Are you happy with the finish of the bezel and the subdials? Do they look authentic? That is true and I still find the watch besutiful
Perceived value marketing. Premium prices lead people to believe they are buying premium products.Sorry to revive this old thread, but seems most appropriate to ask this question here: I was checking prices on a TD website and was surprised to see the price of a standard weight (i.e. not a special tungsten or heavy version) 116503 daytona be highest for King Factory models versus lower prices for Clean and BTF for the same reference numbers. I expected Clean to be most expensive? Is there something special about King these days?
