Kermit Insert, B3 orB4 ?

Hi all,

Just bought this NOS kermit insert.

Seller was not really sure what version it was, he said its from around 2005/6.

On the left you see on top B3 and B4 in the middle

So when i look at this 4, it looks like a B3 to me.

But when i look to the 5 i would say this is a B4, because of the corners.
But the gaps spacing looking like the b3.

What do you guys think ?
I tend more to a B4 from the looks.
Just want to be sure.

Nice find! I would say B4 judging by the slightly rounded edges of the 4 and 5 but I am not expert!

Looks like a TC v7 to me. The reason I asked is there’s a seller in New Zealand selling these without the Pearl also.

The 4 and 0 are too far apart to be a Mk5 plus it has a squared inner 5 like a Mk4 but lacks the seriffs. It’s too dark for a Mk3.

Gap spacing in the 5 is also like a Mk 3 and not close like Mk4 & 5 but the colour and serifs aren’t there for it to be a Mk3. I’m 99% sure it’s a TC v7.

Dont look at the color, because the one in the example pic is faded and mine is NOS.

I’m not looking at just the colour but the seriffs/lack of, shape of the 4 and 5 and spacing don’t match any known Mk3-5 insert. Looking at that last pic I withdraw my comment about it being a V7 insert. I’ve had tons of these mate I don’t think it’s genuine. There’s a reason they’re sold without the pearls as they’re a dead giveaway

I very nearly bought one of these this evening. The only reasons I held off was because the price seems too good for gen NOS Kermit parts, and I’m really not knowledgeable enough to know whether they’re legit or not. So, I’m following this thread with interest.

One thing I have picked up on from other threads is that those metal tins haven’t been used by Rolex for many years.

Thx bud, didnt knew. Looks like a mix of the b3 and b4, like a b 3.5 lol. Hope someone cant tell me.

Hey guys just wanna see any updates on this debate, I wanna ask the same B3 o4 B4 question and, yes I bought mine from a NZ ebay seller at a very good price couple months back, it still in my parts box...

Mine looks exactly same as OP's!

Right just checked I paid £115 for one as the insert is slightly scratched.

The seller do not sell them anymore but from completed listing he has sold total 10 of them, advertised as "geniune & 100% rolex"

It's probably a little too late to return/dispute by now, but well, just curious.
