great watch for the price. no doubt.

mark my word, when they have made themselves a name in the watchworld, prices will double. seen it many times.

like you said, the only one thing that bothers me...is the crown that not sitting on the case.

It wears small for a 44mm watch. Or you have a big wrist...
Do you have a side by side pic with a 44mm Panerai?
Otherwise, very nice indeed!

Yannou, that is a HUGE watch, my man! Looks good, though. Have you seen the "base dial" special edition that Gunter did for one of the pilot/military watch forums? No seconds at 6, just the 12/03/06/09 markers. Pretty cool.

ewing - my wrists are 7.5". This watch wears small-ish for a 44mm. Lug-to-lug measurement is only 51mm. I'll snap a pic of it next to a PAM 44mm today...

hooligan, you're the man! :)

Just dropped by Ander's shop (Gnomonwatches) and tried on a bunch of watches. This one was a definate purchase. Very nicely finished. Will get mine monday.

I also tried the damasko dc56 and dc57. Too small IMO.

Thanks, guys. FYI, this year they'll be releasing a 1 pusher chrono based on the 6497 movement. 47mm, should be really cool!

The mono pusher chrono won't be released till end of the yr. Meanwhile, this 7750 chrono will fit great in my mechanical collection. How's yours doing? Anders told me his tests on the timer has it at 6 sec per day

Absolutely no complaints, Zedd. I haven't timed it, but as long as it doesn't lose enough time to be noticeable, I'm A-OK with that. I might just time it this weekend, though. Now you've got my curiousity piqued.

Do you hang out in the Steinhart forum on WUS? I'm "peepshow" over there, FYI.

I do hang out at WUS, just don't post much. I'm more of a reader on any forums ;) Did some researching on my gen purchase and Anders pretty much helped me decide when he pulled out the Chrono II out of his storeroom when I asked him if he'll bring it to Singapore. I almost purchased the MkII Stingray. His batch just arrived in Singapore this morning and they still have the German day wheel.

Looks like I'll have to learn some german to read the days ;)

It's really pretty simple:

Mon - Monday
Die - Tuesday
Mit - Wednesday
Don - Thursday
Fre - Friday
Sam - Saturday
Son - Sunday

You get used to it pretty quickly...

I should mention that only the first 100 will have the German day wheel. All the later models are going to have English language day wheels, supposedly.

Man... I miss my Nav B too... that chrono is sick.... I was thinking of a complete 3717 v1 build... by why bother when you can have that?

You're a smart guy Hooli, I don't care what Sean says about you...

Seriously though, this is what this section is about.... the only major difference between that watch and a full IWC 3717 is the name on the watch... Gunther makes a damn good watch...

The only drawback is that crown.... i'm curious what you will end up with once you have shortened that crown tube... or if Gunther can modify it on his side...

That's actually not the crown tube, it's the base of the crown. I was thinking of sending it off to Jack at IWW (since he's just up the road a couple of hours in Cary, NC) to see if he could shorten the crown base and stem. Although, I've gotten used to the look and shortening the base up might make hand-winding the watch a bit more difficult....

So, I just pulled the trigger on a Steinhart Nav.B chrono. Blue hands, 44mm case, ETA7750 movement and classic flieger styling. I especially like how Gunter worked the big "6" from the main dial into the chrono subdial, slick! 8)

Eye candy from the web -- I'll post my pics as soon as I get it.

Wow nice looking watch. Ive been trying to find a nice pilot watch with great lume as well for under a grand.

Been looking at Lum-tec B1, Archimedes, Fortis, Trias, Messerschmitt, and a few others.

Seems like the Steinhart and Lum-tec have the best lume. Enjoy your new watch!
