Been interested in watches for awhile. Right now I currently have some Seiko watches but looking to expand into reps mostly because I'd rather use my money on the many hobbies I enjoy (as well as investing) rather than paying a lot for stainless steel. Clean Rolex Datejust 36mm looks like a top candidate for my first one in the white dial, although I'm not sure if I have a better chance with the black dial (for the whole "NWBIG" thing, which I know is subjective).

Knowing what factory is making the watch you want is more important than the low price of another supplier using Gen photos. Spend a month reading before running off to buy a watch. Only buy from our Trusted Dealers on RWI.

I've actually been reading both here and reddit for about two months now. I'm familiar with most except now I am just trying to see "dial specific" examples.

Hello and WELCOME from the official RWI reception desk!

You are receiving this introduction because you either posted in the "new members say hi" section or —for the first time(s)— elsewhere. In the latter case, consider introducing yourself in the aforementioned section.

If you haven't already, please make sure to read all relevant sticky threads. They contain important and essential information such as the forum rules! Most importantly the sales rules, because you will NOT yet be eligible / allowed to sell unless you meet certain criteria / are certified first.

A good starting point is this list of resources on RWI:

Please also take another look at this important sticky that you should already have seen after logging on for the first time:

This quick anti-fraud guide is essential if you are about to order from a dealer for the first time:

If you need any further assistance, feel free to contact me or @Feefo!

We will gladly help, but please allow some time for PM responses as we have lifes outside of RWI!

Well, I mostly dig around for reviews/comparisons on various watches. Seems like no one has any info (or even purchases) white dial Rolex Datejusts. I wonder if they're even repped at this point. The plan was to buy a Clean Factory one and have it swapped with a Deep Crystal/Bezel combo.

A fine choice. It's very refreshing to see a new member do research and not rush.

May I offer a word of advice. Just buy the watch and get it in hand before you mod it. I think Deep is not necessary for Clean Datejusts, the bezel may be worth it for the white gold aspect but you should get it in hand.

Regarding the Datejusts, yes white and black are most accurate but I just suggest getting your favorite color. Your first rep, I get it, you are worried about getting called out so you seek 100% accuracy but the truth is noone is calling anyone out over a Datejust lol.

Good luck and good hunting.

Here's my VS36 DJ.

That's made me miss mine, Reaps. Here she is - and with the Deep crystal installed too.

Well it looks like they do rep the white dials I'm looking at! Also, its not like I am super "mod heavy ready" but I figure I'd probably want to have it sent out to get serviced the movement is nice and ready for years and if I'm going to have the Bezel swapped I might as well do the crystal too. It's sort of like a "while you're in there" type thing.

Specifically for the Datejust, the white is the most desirable to me. I was just going to get black if the white one turned out to be bad but they seem pretty nice in the reps but I'm not eagle eye.

This is somebody's introductory thread. The fact he's ignoring the thread crappers suggests he doesn't want thread crappers in his thread.
I bet he's not the only one.

I don't really mind it, but I don't know how to respond because I have no idea what they're going on about.

I bought mine from Steve at TheOne watches and he had the Deep crystal installed for me prior to shipping. He also priced for supply & install on the Xing bezel but I decided against that.

It could be worth ordering an unmodified version first just to see whether it's acceptable out of the box. The factory quality on the VSF and Clean DJ's is really good.

Yes, I'm likely ordering an unmodified smooth bezel version and wearing it initially, and if it really fits me and what I enjoy I might send it out to a watchmaker to do the various mods. I've also been looking at the V7F IWC Mark XVIII and the XF Tudor Pelagos. I sort of want to pace myself for now though

You're right...

And the person who started it in this thread has started it in other people's introductionary threads as well. 🙄 Total FAIL by me for participating instead of intervening. 🫤

Apologies, @RyanGreener. I cleaned up your thread a bit.

@ Lads, plenty of space for fun on the forum. But... Please, let's keep the introductionary threads sane. Imagine you were a newbie on a car forum and wanted to get info for new rims on your Honda and someone —out of the blue— starts to drone on about minions and firecrackers up your butt... Not exactly the best impression to a newbie, is it?
