HI All,

Just got my long awaited PAM 111 N from Toro. To wind it, I open the CG lever, and wind it away from me. I don't pull out the crown. If I pull out the crown it adjusts the time.

It makes a clicking noise when I wind it. The clicking noise comes from that cog thing that is touching the big gear. I've wound it probably about 20 times or more now, but th watch is not running. The crown is now giving resistance to winding, so I have stopped winding it. Am I doing anything wrong here, or is the watch dead??

THis was not the experience I was hoping for from Toro. If it is really dead I don't know if I should return it to him or have it looked at here locally.

Any suggestions would be welcome!!

Have you tried shaking the watch at all? Or giving a small knock to get it started?

Give it a little thump on your palm. Same thing happened to me, my 112 has been running great since.

Wow.. 4 days apart and not even any new info yet, let alone at my home. Possibly might be better to have a broken watch than no watch, eh? LOL!

Its probably better...you might actually get an working watch...oh and I also have discovered that the watch I was sent is not the same as in my qc photos...the CG corners ate different, the movement screws are all in different positions, and the case back is rotated in a different orientation...

Yes we did. I hear Toro is a stand up guy, so I will take the forum's advice and just be patient with it. Just frustrating when I see orders days off of mine already in CONUS when mine hasn't left China yet. I think I will just buy used off of replica sales from now on.

Don't be shy. Give it a few big taps against your palm.

This happens all the time.

I've emailed toro about this already..I thought it'd give him a chance to explain and fix the situation before going to the mods...but do you think I should go immediately to to the mods?

here's a pic of the watch I got:
receivedwatch.jpg

Here's the QC photo:
4.jpg

You can see how the screws are in different orientations, and how the QC CG looks sharper than the watch I received.

I have since emailed toro, and he claims its the same watch as in QC pics. He claims that they serviced the watch, and that's why the blue screws are in different orientations. He said that the CG can actually look sharp when the photo is taken from far, when it is actually rounded. I don't know...it all sounds kind of doubtful to me..

Anyway, he has offered a few options:

1. return the watch (shipping at my expense) to china, and he will send me a replacement v3.0 111N watch (which will be in stock in 2 weeks according to him). He said that he would personally handle the exchange (as opposed to his staff)
2. return the watch (shipping at my expense) to china, and get a refund on the watch (not inlcuding original shipping costs). This probably will mean I am out of pocket $50USD.

Or I guess i could just get it fixed at a local watch smith. Not sure how much that would be, but I'm guessing at least $100.

What would you guys do?

I feel sorry for you mate.

I would definitely send it back and wait for a replacement.

You are right, getting it repaired will probably cost you more than $50. My Pam111N stopped working after I dropped it. I took it to a watchmaker and he told me it would cost AU$80-AU$90 to get it fixed.

It can be the same watch, before and after servicing. Judging from the position of blue screws can be misleading since they are identical and can be put into different holes after the servicing. There is one screw which is only one of it size and single:

And it is identical on both photos. So it is probably the same watch.

i guess it all depends on the shipping. I got a watch from trevor (here in 7 days) and silix (its been 11 days and still nothing).

Ouch, Sorry to hear

I think i would personally ship it back and wait for the v3.0 to come in. Plus shipping it back to him is cheaper then shipping it back and getting a refund and losing the original shipping cost.

Plus if that is the watch you want, you are still going to order it... just from someone else, why pay shipping twice for it.

Hi turbo
The best way IMO is shiping back ( you will pay) and you will get a V3 in some time.
It is teh cheaper, the more sure and the best final situation.
In the replica market you must assume you have to pay the return costs. It is almost a rule !!!
