Basically the usual marketing bluster, saying how they recreated the case and bracelet perfectly in a 37mm size, great craftsmanship blablabla. Movement is a 9015 decorated to look like a 3120 (which is incorrect btw, the gen uses a Vaucher based caliber).

I wonder how thick the watch is. The old JF is around 10.5 mm. And why don't they use the clone movement?

I honestly prefer they dont use a clone movement. Servicing a clone of such a scarce movement will be a pain.

I still dont understand the struggle JF had to get thickness down though. The Cartier Santos reps get very close with a 9015, its a pretty thin movement.

A couple of observations based on that one image: the dial appears to be the 15450 configuration with the "AUTOMATIC" text at 6 o'clock, the applied AP at 12, and the small half-marker the the right of the date window. They have the 15550 exclusive sky blue dial color and the more tapered 15550 case though.
I do strongly prefer the 15450 dial layout, the 15550 looks really empty, but why not use a 15450 case at that point? Seems very weird, but those do just look like mockup/rendered pictures so we'll just have to wait till real pics come out I reckon.

very exciting but at the same time quite confused....

Is this a rep of the 15450 or the 15550? B/c the 15450 uses the 3120 movement whereas the new 15550 uses the new 5900 caliber.
If its a 15550 why would they decorate it to look like the wrong movement, and if its a 15450 why wouldn't they just use the clone 3120 that is out and readily available?
Does the advert specify which factory is making the watch? If its ZF (hopefully) or APSF maybe that could shed some light on all this...

Anyone who can read the advert can answer these questions for me please?

The dial is still the similar JF 15450 dial with "Audemars Piguet" wrong position. I'd rather have the 15450 rep with today quality than the new 15550 since no one really see the gen in real life anyway.

Looks are subjective. Some of my collector friends do like the 15550.

Thanks for the update on the 4302. I hope to see the movement cloned properly too, with the instant date change.
Just wondering, if the 16202 is cloned, how will it differ from the 15202 rep from the front lol. For me it looks exactly the same as the 15202. :legend:

I'm sure these differences have been well-noted by now, but to @legend 's point, not much has changed between the 15202 and the 16202 (ignoring the price!).

The two major differences are the caliber change - with features such as the new 16202 now able to instant date change, and the change in dial - which is really the only visual change I can discern. AP have gone with a selection of new "smoked" dials for their 16202 release.

Other than that, looks like the exact same dimensions more or less.

Yes agree. If the pictures are to be trusted, those are the 15450 dials. The new dials lack the "AP" text, the "Automatic" text, and have the "Audemars Piguet" text based above the center-side of the 10 and 2 markings.

Will have to wait for "QC" photos though to know for sure if this mistake has made it to production.

Gen 15550 does not have "Automatic" printed on the dial. 10.4mm thickness is way too much. I hope other makers corrects these flaws with their iterations.
