I think most everybody has a bit of a crush on Jodi, the world's favourite female giraffe. She's done more in her 46 years than most will achive in a lifetime and man, can she drive! It's pretty darn rare to go from supermodel to motor racer, but she did it and in style. She also owns a pub, what more could you want? This is a great interview and well worth a watch.

A few of my mates are regulars in her pub and by all accounts she's a great landlady, not one bit snooty or arrogant like one might expect.

Plenty of nice metal parked up on summer weekends too!

She grew up as one of 5 kids on a farm and the family did not have a lot of money. Her dad was a UK champion showjumper so they did have some very well to do friends but farm life kept her grounded. I met her when she was out here fror a Grand Prix and again about 6 years ago at a historical rally. One of the nicest people you could hope to meet, and there's not a pretentious bone in her body.

Yes, she's great craic, I only met her the once.

I knew Sabine Schmitz who myself and son spent a week with at the Nordschleif.

She actually took me out in my tuned S55 Kompressor to dial in my sighting and braking, best week ever, then we drove down to Le Mans for the week.

Very very sad that she passed away before I got to see her again. I was due to go when C19 Lockdowns hit, and she died before I could get out there after the end of that fiasco. I have a signed photo of her on my Garage wall.

I will never forget, after the laps with her driving, I drove, and she was improving my time no end pointing out this and that.
When we all got back at the Hotel that night she said to me "At least you were way faster than Clarkson !!" there was a bunch of us who just fell about laughing.

Thank you for reminding me of that

You are blessed. I never got to meet her, but I miss her constantly. Her and Jodie had a lot in common, both great fun to be around and very, very talented people. When it comes to female celebrities whose passing impacted me, I rate her up there with Carrie Fisher.

I'm not afraid to admit I cried when we got the call from Klaus, we had the trip to Germany planned for later in the year but was going to take my V8 SLK that time, Sabine had been following the build blog at the time.
We always stayed at her families Hotel near the Nordschleif.

I've never been back there, wouldn't be the same
