Price will be same as the APD I think and they cant sell the gen after because they tear it apart to make the rep.

They tear it down, and assemble it back. (and of course they wouldnt tell the buyer 'hey! this watch was torn down to pieces before!')

I dont see any reason that it cannot be sold unless there are damages to it.

HUH?! they took apart so they can't put it back together?

dude.....i'm pretty sure they aren't using your average mom and pops horologist handling the tear down of the watch. I'm pretty sure he's as skilled as any horologist here on this forum. Gen watches get taken apart all the time for servicing and repairs at ADs.

You know I haven't bought too many new watches (just a few used ones ;) ) lately but if this looks as good as the pics and video look I think I may have just found my next purchase. Been waiting for a nice JLC rep for years.

The way Angus tells it they smash the gen up pretty good so they cant get that much for it even if they could be bothered to reassemble it and get back all the parts sent to all the assembling factories. If they did get it back in decent condition it would either go to Mr Creme, one of his top guns as a reward or to an official to grease the wheels.

First draft of the Rep watches guidebook nearly done. Will be taking preorders soon - hahahahaha!

Askingh rule #1 is to not always 100% believe everything a dealer says. They may not even know some things. Many watches are kept for V2 and V3 versions. And even if they were to rep a watch that made the original impossible to reassemble, they could still sell the watch parts for a substantial sum of money. The dial for instance on many gen watches are worth $1000s of dollars.

About the preorder on your "guidebook", I think you need to crawl before you walk, try posting just 1 review first ;)

I've talked to enough dealers to know when they are bullshitting me and you and I both know Angus is as straight as they can come in this business.

As for getting back a few grand for gen parts its possible as these guys are chinese businessmen, but Mr Creme and the big boys are making so much money, do the basic maths just on the margins on volume of the PAM and APD sales just in the forums then extrapolate for the rest of the world, that I think a few peanut grand isn't worth their time to worry over. Much more likely they'll be gifted or used than sold.

Where did Angus say that the tear-down results in a wrecked watch?

Seems to me like a justification for raising their prices. Don't get me wrong, I am not questioning anyones' integrity here, just the skeptical me about such stuff :)

Angus actually does the tear down and he makes all his watches from scratch, ive seen it, he mixes sand and water in a bucket , puts in the genuine watch and pulls out a perfect copy , oh but he does use a magic wand over the bucket, bwaahahahaha

Angus was asked if he would get to keep the gen APD because of all his work on it and he replied it would be in no fit state.
