Are these recent QC pictures from these TDs?

Hi - The QC's above are about 4 months old which is pretty recent. Li also told me he could only source the latest V4 from GF, but on his website the V2 and V3 appear to be in stock. He also said latest V4 was a Dandong clone, which would contradict other member's affirmations of it being a Citizen / Miyota 9015 with modifications.

I am no expert, but we're hearing a lot of conflicting information about the GF V4 movement which makes decision making quite difficult. I would like a movement which is easy to repair in case I have to service it. ZF seems to have the Miyota movement but I hear the moonphase is better on the GF. What version do you advise me of purchasing ?

Would it be possible that V4 uses different movements in their latest batch ?

makes decision making quite difficult.

I understand your concerns.
All I can say is that the V4 watch (the one with the cloned movement) and its complications work wonderfully well in the last 6 weeks that I have it and wear it on a daily basis. I will try to update you periodically on its function.

I'm also stuck between ZF and GF v4, all the confusion around the v4's movement doesn't help things. I would definitely prefer to have a more easily serviceable movement if possible, but a better moonphase appearance on the GF (from what I've read) also seems nice.

Regarding the GF V4 confusion, I think TD's are either selling their V3 stock as V4 "so called" MY9015, or V4 are manufactured with both clone and citizen/Miyota movements. All the recent 2021 videos from youku show latest GF version with clone movements, not Miyota. So, if I had to sum it up in a nutshell :

- If clone movement is known to be reliable, then in my opinion we should go for the GF V4 (Moon seems to have been updated and less concave than previous versions. Only drawback would be the laser printed name on the wheel bridge. ZF version got it engraved).
- If clone movement is not reliable or still unknown, then ZF with good old modified 9015 is our best option. Moon looks more like a "sticker", but not bad at all when compared to gen.

What do you guys think would be more reliable. A clone movement probably from dandong, or a heavily modified Miyota 9015 ?

I'm expecting QC pics soon on a GF v4, will report back for movement check

Awesome ! I'm impatiently looking forward to your feedback regarding the V4 QC pics. I hope you get the Miyota 9015 version as I have read it is a bit more reliable than the clone 925. GF moonphase is stunning on pictures.

I'm curious, which TD did you buy the piece from ? I have been told to check back in a few weeks for the GF version and Intime told me they could not arrange that model at the moment.

From Hont. He said 3-7 days for QC pics which unfortunately have not yet arrived. I'm surprised you heard that about the GF model, hopefully I don't hear the same from Hont in a few days!

I was also surprised to hear that from Intime as another TD I have inquired from told me it was available and some other told me to wait a couple of weeks.

Hope you receive QC pics soon !

Here it is! hoping someone who knows more than me can comment on this movement. Here's a video as well https://a202111041317341460003592.s...1041317341460003592/I202202281220260060001472

Looks like a modified Miyota 9015 movement. The one to go I guess if you are looking for more reliability compared to dandong clone movement.
Awesome watch from the video.

I think Stuxnet is correct. It does look like a modified Miyota movement.
Is this the GF v4 from Hont you mentioned previously?
BTW it is an awesome looking watch!

Yes it is, at least according to Hont. Starting to become even more confused with all the v4/v3 stuff. For all I know this is actually v3. One thing making me think it's actually v4 is when I asked him if it was in stock and sent him the link to his shop page for the GF, he said the one pictured in that listing was not v4, but he could get v4 from factory. Make of that what you will.

Hi guys... just wondering.. does it mean that we are in consensus that the GF is aesthetically better and closer to gen than the ZF?

Hi mate - this is just my personal opinion after comparing many high resolution pictures of ZF vs GEN vs GF V4 and yes, I have come to the conclusion that GF V4 is aesthetically better and closer to gen, especially when it comes to the moon.

I just received my QC pics today. I managed to get the GF, and I hope it's V4, but I don't know.

There is a terrible stain or scratch on the back it seems. In the video, hont quickly flips it around so it's hard to see, but it also reveals some stain or scratch on the side of the watch too. In the still pics, you can clearly see it on the top right. I've asked him about it, but still waiting for a response.

I'd ask for another close up picture of the back just to make sure.

Thanks a lot for sharing!
As a relatively new member, it baffles me how some members on here can get so tribal on hearing facts that aren't overwhelmingly positive about their favourite rep, or TD. I thought the purpose was to share all info to give members a full picture to be informed!

In that case, do you have any more info on the movement? As in, if it's based on a particular movement? Or is it a complete clone movement?
I just ordered 2x GFV4 (still in QC), while not a dealbreaker would be good to plan ahead for servicing etc.

Thanks a lot

Hello guys, I am a brand new member. It's nice to meet you all! :) I just bought the GF V4 not long ago and it's still in the mail, but from the QC pics it looks awesome. How come you ordered 2x of the same watch? If it's the MY9015 or whatever movement it is, it still should be fairly easy to service, right? Or did you get two different kinds of the same watch? Thanks.
