no. it was quite simple. the bezel was inside the bleach for about 7/8 minutes. for the dial I used a toothpick soaked in coffee. it was fun.

Hi Rolliefanatic,

congrats on your Ref 1680 - looks good and the price is stunning!

I purchased a Ref 5512 via Puretime (I know a lot of TDs are selling 5512 but I think these of Puretime (and also Trustytime etc. are selling those) are one of the better factory reps of 5512/5513.

https://puretimewatch.io/vintage-submariner-style-3-ss-black-dial-on-ss-bracelet-a2836.html#

However I already aged my bezel and I am very happy with it - now the dial and hands need some aging too.

Do you have any advice on getting the dial and hands safely out of the case? Did you mod in the past or was this also your first removal?

Any hints would be much appreciated.

BR,
The Controller

Hi Lovegmt73,

thank you very much for your reply and the attached photo.

I am pretty sure now, that I too have a JKF 5512. Mine looks exactly like yours and I really scanned all the available replicas on the TDs site before ordering via Puretime (because I had a very good experience last time).

Hi TheController
I Like your 5512. Mine it’s on the way for me. Just ordered few days ago to MR again.
The same of You.

Removing the dial with hands on it was very easy. But I didn’t take it out of the case, I just remove the bezel and the crystal.
Once the dial was without crystal, I stopped the second hand and just started aging it with a toothpick and coffee.
Easy.

You can decide also to remove dial from the case. But I didn’t need to do that.
