The are really bouncing around on the colours of the small and tachy seconds hands. Not once correct to gen, really. Guess I will be relacquering mine.

So we have sub-dial hands that are accurate to the modern rubberclads (black tips, silver center)

And we've got a second hand that is accurate to the older rubberclads (all white)

Easiest to just pull the chrono second hand, soak it in acetone or something, remove the paint and put it back on?

Indeed, from what I've seen on the net, the Sub dial hands are correct on the JF version of the Rubber Clad but the second should be silver not not..
However, to be honest, I quite like the white chrono second hand...
Overall, still very much liking this watch.. A LOT!

Guys:
I just got my black Rubberclad from JF/J12. I knew it was a mash-up model.
However, I'm building a franken. I have an old-style Black RC dial already.
@Daytona1984 : I know you got a new-style, silver-outlined Black RC Dial. That makes sense. However my question is, with Edgematic gen-spec datewheels only produced in one color (cream w black numerals) - how do you have a Black datewheel with white numbers - Gen AP?

The mash-up part that struck me as odd is this:
I know the large chrono sec-hand counter is white on first gen RC and silver/chrome on newer gen RC with black datewheel. BUT, my JF RC chrono sec hand is white (as we all knew!!) BUT with a silver/chrome "base" in center where it mounts to the other hands... Is everybody else's here on RWI like that as well?? @cgn1017 , @jonnybaws ....I was expecting an ALL-WHITE chrono sec hand like the earlier gen RC's... Isn't white Chrono hand but with chrome base a COMPLETE fantasy?? It's either ALL white or ALL Chrome, right?

Next, the 3 small chrono hands are black but they have the newer style chrome base (2012 Rubberclad design.)
I'm going to have an old style dial, new style 3-small hands, and weird fantasy Large Chrono hand!? LOL...
Or, what would you experts recommend I do? Try to paint, varnish, strip, tarnish, whatever the FOUR total hands (Large chrono, 3 small) back to old style to match the older dial and White Edgematic datewheel?? (i.e. Large hand becomes ALL white and 3 small hands ALL black with NO silver/chrome bases whatsoever?!)
Without putting a ton of money in it or looking for difficult hands, what would you all recommend? Thanks!

^^ If you have the 'old' dial, just make the Franken as the 'old' gen.
If the maker is Domi, he knows what to do... Good luck with your built ;)

I think the dial is the old dial at least - only now it's packaged away tightly/wrapped up good and I'm NOT unwrapping it...
Isn't the only dial difference the silver-outlined numerals? Or is the lume diff colored too?
Tini, what does the base of YOUR black RC Chrono seconds hand look like? cgn1017 's above looks 100% ALL WHITE! So why the hell is mine different??

So Tini what you're saying on the build is that if using the old dial, that I should have him change the 3 small hands to a black mounting base, and the Chrono hand to ALL white? That can be done by him?? That way, everything "matches" one version? Thanks

Yes, do it like this (with white DW)

The hands paint's job is the 'easiest' part of the job for Domi, bro ;)

hey buddy,

just do it as tinitonsi suggested.

it is not a big deal to repaint the rep hands as per gen. when you have the old dial version it will be easy, since you just have to paint the chrono hand white and the subdial hands in black.

regarding the dw, you are better of with the old dial version since you can use the edge dw. i used a gen black eta dw, however, it was a pain to look for a black dw with a decent font.

good luck with your project :)
