Gents - anyone who has the JF V3 and a Crystal/AR upgrade - in your opinion was it worth it or necessary? was the difference/pop noticeable? Considering getting one.. Thanks

keep in mind that a double AR crystal (for example from prof or sonil) will make the glass more or less disappear as it is super clear with almost no reflection anymore.

That is not as gen like as a single sided AR coating of the crystal. The gen uses a single sided AR coating on the inside - so there is a more shinier look to the over all watch face, but the gen crystal is more clear than the rep crystal.

Some people consider to get a prof crystal but with a single sided AR coating as it is better as the stock crystal.

IMHO the V3 is great out of the box but once the difference of a better crystal is seen it cannot be unseen - but it is not that bad - i still rock my 15400 with the stock crystal and am happy with it for the money i paid... other models like ROOs are IMHO more worth it to be modded. But thats another topic.

- first of all pick the right color of dial. Avoid the grey one as it is not spot on. IMO the white and black are the most accurate then comes the blue one - but there are also different dial variations on the gen as discussed on many pages before in this thread. So do your reading and find out yourself what is the best in your opinion.

- if you find a modder that is willing and abled to thin down the case to gen height (9.8mm) - this would be the best thing first of all.

- then put in a 1xAR crystal from Prof or Sonil

- maybe reluming to get a stronger and more durable glow, but that is not really necessary on a dressy sports watch like the RO IMHO...



if you are crazy enough get you a Gen Dial and go franken your watch. and if you are even crazier try to find a 3120 with fitting hands and DW and then build a super franken. But i think you will have to do your reading through the forum first.

Hi, so I got my qc pics today seems to be a v3 but the second markers around 12 o clock look very misaligned to me.

What do u guys think?

can we see a pic of prof 1ar mate please? My watch is with my modder and I would like to see if this mod makes enough difference to warrant me changing the crystal

I think there is nothing misaligned. To be honest absolut everything is perfectly fine for a rep IMHO. I would straight green light this piece.

If it would be crooked by a few degrees i would understand the issue but in this case it is just a little more to the right, but calling it very misaligned is a bit too much IMO

you would never notice it on the wrist...

yeah a modder could do that. But in the case of many newbies i think too many "flaws" get rejected while that are minor things that are merely normal on reps...

I hope he isn't rejecting it - I can imagine that the TD could get tired of it very fast. You know what i mean.

Yeah would not reject that too would just send it to a modder because 50% of the JF reps have misaligned markers/logos no idea why actually

indirectly we know why they are all misaligned haha

i think JF does a decent job on its 15400 so far for the money we pay.

Not to mention the miserable work of PF on their 5711 dials for 100 bucks more than a JF 15400.

In my eyes yes
