Holy mother of jeebus, I haven't seen a proper perpetual calendar release in eons. And this is by the celebrated V(9,6,S etc)Factory.

What are your current thoughts on it so far?

subdials at 3 and 9 are not fonctionnal. (glued hands no running second and no power reserve)

Moon phase is a 24h indicator

The gen is a hell of a complication. I think we will get a functional power reserve, reliable date change, but everything else is up in the air. North/south hemisphere moon phase can’t be done.

We will see.

I'm not sure what to think of this.
pro: nice to see such a good looking perpetual calendar style watch. First glance is good. But there comes the con: in the high end reps, they should be at least 90% functional (at least visually) or don't repped at al. IMHO

I have to believe it would cost more than that for a real perpetual calendar in rep.

My feeling is they probably wouldn't copy the movement unless there was enough demand for the watch.

I have the annual calendar, which I think is the perfect watch. 3 window Calendar plus power reserve. Easily decipherable. All and only the functions necessary in a mechanical watch.

There is only a minor problem though ... some of complications were buggy, then stopped working. With even more complications, some supposedly non working from the get go, what can I say?

Hit or miss with reps, luck of the draw. More complicated movements are troublesome for sure and QC on those 'copied' movements is probably minimal at best. Gotta go for those tried and tested movements that have been around the block.

It's a novelty, but yeah. Probably 500 to 600 USD.
But I would rather put my money in a tourbillion.
And yes, the more complicated a rep movement, the higher the chances are it will suffer from complications.

It is a beautiful watch - no doubt :)

I own a V9F Jaeger LeCoultre with some complications and, if you believe or nor, all complications work perfect (except Moonphase - it is a 24h indicator):
.
.

So, this factory seems to be able to rep a complicated watch for 95% of the functions ...

So this is a really nice rep - I always wanted this one as a rep - but 44mm is a real big thing for a 17cm wrist. :(

I know how it would end up, if I order:
I would order a gen Santoni strap to be here when watch arrives, I would love the watch when arrives, wear it twice, recognize and admit it is to big, sat it in the mover and then 2 months later would sell it here. Sorry, but no ;)

If only someone would rep the JLC with working Moonphase ;)

Thanks for sharing mate! That looks stunning! I absolutely agree, with a working moonphase that would be a COMPLETE watch! Suspicious as to how that one aspect was omitted though....

I think most factories can in general rep most watches fairly well these days. It comes down to the details that set them apart from being a super reps. The quality is usually quite high and most watches are probably made from gen samples. With more complicated watches, they can usually get the look right or about 95%, but the movement is a different beast.

BTW, nice JLC watch, wear it in good health.

Bit of a shame they couldn’t even be bothered to line up the jewel on the deco plate with the center of the balance wheel. I know it has no function but still...
