IWC Portuguese 3714 V4 to buy or not?

Currently thinking about getting a IWC Portuguese 3714 V4, but the seconds @ 6 problem is preventing me from getting it.

Will the seconds @ 6 problem cause any reliability issue to the watch or is it better to get another watch instead?

Thanks.

It is well documented that a7750s with seconds@6 are ticking timebombs. Some have had luck with them, most have not.
For sure if you want the movement to last longer you should never use the chrono :)

Thanks man. Never use the chrono on just the 3714 or most rep watches with chrono?

7750 is a movement designed to have the seconds subdial at 9, in this configuration it is fairly reliable with just a bit of care. If you use the chrono, reset it only when the seconds hand is between 11 and 1, don't change the date when close to midnight, be careful if you wind it manually. This applies also to gen ETA movements.

The problem with the seconds at 6 configuration (and the secs@12 as well) is in the extra gears used to place the seconds subdial in that position.

Guess this applies to the IWC Top Gun as well?

However, the Top Gun movement is more reliable than the Portuguese?

Maybe a strange question, but aren't there any reps of the 3714 with quartz movements that still look great?

Maybe..but the 3714 V4 has improved recessed sub dials but movement is the problem...
