Great review! Thank you very much :)

I love this watch and could quite happily accept the few minor flaws. To those saying they will wait for V2 - if nobody buys this watch and everyone waits for V2, there will be no V2. The makers have invested all this time and money into creating V1. This needs to be a big commercial success for them or they won;t entertain the idea of making a second version, or likely many more custom movements again. Not saying that everyone has to go out and buy it, but just saying that you're going to wait for V2 is nigh-on pointless...

In fact it's just the opposite. If the makers would have made use of the wisdom of the forum, there would have been none of the flaws in the first place already, however they decided to be smart-asses and launch a "not-so-perfect" version (which, IMNSHO, is a shame anyway). But due to the wisdom of the forum we all have the chance to decide if we want to wait for the flaws to be corrected or to buy the watch despite of the flaws. So if you like it, just buy it. But don't complain once the V2 is out... ;)

And as has been pointed out several times we, the forum, constitute a very small part of total sales and revenue that wether or not we hold out for a newer version won't make much of a difference for the makers.

Also I can't believe YL would try and cut their losses by scrapping this project should this watch be selling poorly. It wouldn't make sense anyways considering that this movement can be used for several models. First off there are different dialed 5035's and then there are the big pilot annual calenders as well. There is profit to be had here and if they could only come to their senses and fix the issues that we are having issues with then they could see the sales improve, from our community anyways. If they compare with the sales of the 5001/07 then they must realize something is wrong.

I would like to believe that maybe this is the case, that they are fixing it and is why we are yet to see the white dial version of the 5035.. but I don't know:(

Agreed, would wait for a v2 with corrected font/spelling/day-date-month window opening shape. I have my eyes on the spitfire annual calendar 5027-02 and I hope they get the movement right before making other models.

Besides the engraving on the movement some more flaws which already has had been mentioned elsewhere: The „2“ is all wrong, the „10“ too thick (however, not really a big deal, but then again, a flaw is a flaw is a flaw) and the hour markers are not centered on the rails. Would maybe someone like to make an updated list of all the flaws?

Stunning looking watch!

It's a shame i have small wrist syndrome - wouldn't be able to get away with a 44mm! :(

does anyone have an idea how long it usually takes before a v2 is coming out, if at all?
