Thanks buddy. To be honest a gen crystal will make no difference to this one. In reality it is as clear as gen. I’ve owned quite a few gen subs and frankened quite a few too and the only sub to fit a crystal on is the date. This zzf crystal is very good.

Thanks, good to know! Looks like this ZZF is a good investment especially if you plan to put a gen insert on. I am still torn between this and the ARF 116710. Will see!

The ARF Gmt is a great watch too. I frankened one with a gen insert, gen crystal and a Vr movement swap and it was pretty much as good as this. Personally I think this has the edge for the pure simplicity of no date and gmt complication to go wrong!

Thanks for the advice. You're right about it.
I have a specific question: I would like to get this one and to fit just a gen insert.
Do you think I can save the price of a gen bezel ring if I am not concerned about the clicks? They (the bezel rings) seem fairly similar, however I have noticed that the ZZF insert sits wrongly in the ZZF bezel (it is too high giving a fat appearence). I don't know if fitting a gen insert in the ZZF ring will give the right position to the insert.

The bezel insert sits nicely inside the leading edge on my zzf bezel or did before I smashed it haha! I think an gen insert would also sit correctly in this.
Here is a pic of the zzf insert and bezel. The gen looks no different

Sorry not had chance bud. Nursing a very poorly wife at the moment!
I’ll have a new CF insert in a few days so might wait. The other is in about 15 pieces as it disintegrated to be honest.

What do you think about the crown guards? They are also a big tell, or did ZZF update them with v2s?
