Issue with my Noob Super Avenger

My brother and his wife celebrated their 12 anniversary in the Dominican Republic last week and he asked me if it’s okay if I can let him wear one of my watches and I agreed because he was celebrating a nice occasion. I gave him my Noob Super Avenger chronograph and specifically told him do not run the chronograph at any cost so I set the watch for him so he wouldn’t have to worry about it. He came back and brought the watch yesterday and low and behold now it looks like this!!! I asked him if he ran the chronograph and he said just for a little while but he stopped it after a day or two. Never anymore will I do this again. Can someone please tell me what to do to get this fixed. Large seconds hand doesn’t stop on 12.

The simplest fix is just to remove the large seconds hand (and minute totalizer hand), and re-press them to straight up.

it might be possible to return the movement parts to previous functionality with a servicing but since the goal is not to make the chronos usable the option above is really best IMO.

It's not terribly difficult or time consuming to do, but needs to be done by someone competent with hand setting. A7750 subdial hand posts are somewhat fragile - I've had one snap off during removal. At that point you need an identical new gear that the post is mounted on. Can be hard to come by as not all A7750s are alike so you could be faced with a whole movement replacement if that happens.

Appreciate the info. It’s scary to think that the subdial hands can snap during removal so is it a good idea to just put in a ETA 7750 to be on the safe side or is it necessary??

A new ETA 7750 can be expensive. You could buy a used one or a new Selitta SW 500.

Alternately a new A7750 from Ali Express from Dandong factory is acceptable IMO. That's what I did for the one that broke. It was $92

But if you are willing to buy any new movement there would be no reason not to try Option 1 above.

There is one other thing you could try. Let the chronos run for 28 minutes and try to stop them exactly as the hands approach straight up. Sometimes the hour totalizer won't advance toward 1 until later in the timing. Other times I've seen it move a little ahead of time which would defeat this effort. If the effort fails for whatever reason, try to reset again maybe the result will be different.

Ok thanks . Will try that method and if it fails then I will have to fine someone to do the 1st option. The problem is there’s no one here that works on 7750’s on this forum when I checked.

Finding someone is the tough part.

ETA7750 is like 400 and up.
Yeah you’re right . KJ2020 just sent me a link to eBay and I tell you an ETA 7750 cost just as much as buying a new watch sheeesh.

Looked at the Sellita SW500 cost just as much.

If you really like your SA and found someone that can install, it might be worthwhile to put a better movement. I did this for my SA and Daylights.

My replacement Dandong A7750 is nice. It came clean and running well. Mine was for Daytona so different subdial arrangement. This is the Breitling equivalent.

I’ve looked all over this forum and over at RWG . No one works on this movement. Took it to a regular watch smith and he wouldn’t even touch it because it’s a rep. I’m not that knowledgeable trying to do it myself and I will surely f##k it up.

As was said the rep hands don't hold up well so be prepared. Good thing is that you can find gen hands if you think it's a keeper. Regardless this should be fixable for a watchsmith.
