puretime I am waiting on 2 of this very piece from puretime. What can I do in advance? Can I ask puretime to ask arf to send me a pair of backup gaskets? Or better yet, is there a modder that I can send them to as soon as I get them?

I would definitely ask your TD about it in QC. This is completely unacceptable, setting a bezel at the factory the first time with new parts should never result in this outcome. I doubt you'll get gaskets from ARF through a TD, no one has succeeded in doing that AFAIK.

Here is a drawing because I not able to take a picture of it.

Yes that's the correct orientation. The gaskets you ordered look like the same ones I tried. They are too thin, too short, and have a double stair step profile. They got swallowed entirely in the groove. I kept them thinking maybe someday they would be useful but so far, no.

So I spoke to CS at Puretime and they showed me a video of a different ARF v2 and it had the same issue. Ow it was not as bad as mine but it was there. They offered an exchange but I feel like the issue will be there even with the replacement one. What I’m trying to understand is, are they placing the gasket wrong or is it the wrong gasket completely.

The gasket in my Noob v9 is way thicker then the on in ARFs. I tried putting the Noob bezel on he ARF and it would not fit and vice versa.

I ordered a press and should get it today, I’ll try getting it in with it.

noob and arf have different tolerances when it comes to their gaskets...its very minimal but enough to where it needs a little mod for them to work on each other. noob on arf are able to swap back in forth but you need the retaining ring from its own bezel assembly. I think they are using their own gaskets to seat the bezel assembly as much as possible to be able to let it operate and keep the assembly in tact

Update*** so I was able to place the bezel in with the short side of the gasket facing up but now the bezel will not rotate.

Try turning the gasket upside down. It's possible ARF does it opposite of how Noob does. Your status is exactly what happened to me when I re-installed the Noob with the short side down. I turned the gasket upside down and it clicked home firmly and rotates like new. The other possiblity is part of the gasket got pinched and it lost its seating in the groove while being pressed in. This would be more serious as once the gasket gets deformed it's usability becomes questionable. I have brought a gasket back from this condition though, with careful sanding on the inner side and bottom surfaces. Also if it got stretched out, part of it can be cut out as johnlogan noted above. It is not a requirement that the gasket occupy 100% of the groove, or that it be uncut.

Nice solutions on the thread but here’s what I’ve done for a no gap ARF bezel:

Add a thin layer of super glue under the ridge on the retaining ring to effectively lower the place where gasket catches.

Oh I forgot, you can also try applying heat to the gasket to reverse warping and restore its shape.

Mine sits right on the case (arguably too close)

Interesting. Do you recall whether the ARF gasket goes in stairstep profile up or down?

Both have stair shape I forget which way noob goes on but ARF on ARF retainer is stair down. Stair up gets jammed.

Stair down works

Your pics are not clear enough to see. Look at DirtyArty's drawing, is this correct for ARF or should the gasket be flipped?

I really think if they send you a new gasket..it may solve your issues. Somehow it became deformed or damaged. Just have to make sure retainer ring is pressed all the way down

I'm about to embark on the same mission of reinstalling my bezel. I ordered the exact gaskets from Amazon. I have gen click springs and a gen xtal I'm going to install. Any suggestions on the installation of the gen xtal?

I would be very surprised if those gaskets are of any use to you at all so make every effort to save the rep bezel gasket intact and undamaged.

The way I have it in my drawing is incorrect for ARF. I was able to get the bezel in this way but it would not turn. I think they’re using incorrect gaskets. My TD sent me a video of a different ARF v2 and it had the same play on the bezel.

They all have play including gen.

My glue mod works for ARF bezel play.
