An old guy who knows I like watches gave this to me a while back(at the pub) as it didn't work and he said keep it,you might be able to fix it.I thought it was an old rep as there are no markings on the case back.saw it recently in my bits box and decided to take the back off and was surprised to see it was gen .the spring looks broken so I thought i would ask the experts here if it's worth fixing or selling as a project/parts.it's not my cup of tea that's for sure.what do you guys think?looks 60s/70s?

Not worth fixing or keeping. Send it to me and I'll make sure it's disposed of properly. ;-)

No sentimental value and sorry about the size of the photos.I just can't seem to work out how to make them smaller!

Just send it to good smith for full restoration, and be happy, owning a vintage gen.

That seems like omega 1030 movement . My watch smith has one he wanted to sell for 100 bucks. You can have a brand new watch for that price. Let me know if U want it. I could sell it through eBay to you.

It's funny how I have mistaken somebody else for my girlfriend from back but We can recognize a watch movement without close up. I think we take this too seriously. Lol.

why were you surprised it was a gen?? Of course it was a gen. no doubt about it.

I have 6 vintage gens, including a Geneve like this one. Your watch is most likely 34mm. The Geneve line, unfortunately is there bottom tier line of watches. Still very collectable nonetheless. It is definitely worth more than 100 bucks. You could probably get double if not more than that for it.

Get the serial number and from that, you can date it pretty accurately.
