Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew if this AP RO Tourbillon Openworked is made by JF? Or is it another factory? It is listed as a V2.

Also any insight into this piece would be great. It seems to be a well made rep in terms of accuracy to the gen. Of course it is not perfect but seems to be a good effort. The rep was released some time ago, I think 2018.

I suggest that you ask Puretime. I wish all TDs include the manufacturer/maker in the description of all the watches they sell. Also the lug to lug dimension. It would be helpful for us buyers.

Hi Gilrob, I have sent an email to PureTime waiting for a response. I think it is JF based on dimensions and build. I'll post when they answer. Thanks!

Ok PureTime replied and said this is made by JF. I think it may be my next purchase.

I own a ss v1. It's a gorgeous watch and keeps good time. The only problem I've had is a stuck and unremovable screw pin of the bracelet. Maybe the bracelet pins have been improved for v2, too, but I'm not sure.

Hi grillbrill, I looked at the stainless steel one in V2. I compared it to the gen variant and it does not look similar. It looks like the stainless V2 version is a combination of the gen limited edition 40 pieces version and the gen platinum version. In other words JF must have combined some aspects of both of the gen versions and made the V2.

I generally don't get yellow or rose gold reps because the plating can wear off over time and is lighter than gen. But I have a few rose gold reps that have held up for quite a while. And in my whole collection I have no yellow gold. So I may get this. Still contemplating. Thanks for input grillbrill.

Thanks for your input. When I buy a rep the main point is for me if the actual rep aestethically and functionally appeals to me enough to pull the trigger, and in my decision the comparison with the gen is important but not the most important point of view for me. That had been the case with my ss v1:

It's made by the R8 maker buddy

Yes I agree about the aesthetic aspect of the rep and functionality as being primary factors. I purchased a GRF Patek 5726 for those reasons even though it was not the closest in terms of comparison to the gen but has great functionality and high quality.

I read your review of the V1 you purchased and I appreciate your input. Thanks again!

Hi dabestone, thank you for chiming in. PureTime claims this is made by JF. Do you have a source that shows this is R8? I looked at Trusty and Intime but they don't list the maker as far as I could see.

Hi guy....i confirm that is made by R8 and no JF,
it is a georgeus piece..amzing in every aspect if you think that is only a “rep”.
yes, it is not a genlike rep, but the only thing that tell you this is the tourbi weel yhat is in yellow gold instead white gold ( ss for us ) .

however, how many of us may be side by side with a gen owner?

i think no one, and not for the money , but for the number of pieces excisting.

Guy, if you like it, buy it and enjoy it, like i ve said before, it is a beautiful piece, well done and affordable .
