Didnt they change the chrono markers on the bezel from the dot to the triangle before that though? Making this one inaccurate.

This is a good one indeed.
..The ROLEXROLEXROLEX engraved on the rehaut is present to the new models, but this one is also on the 2009 line of Daytonas, as the entry model of the line, the Stainless Steel Daytona.
All 2008+ models come with the engraved rehaut, no matter what Rolex it is. From Datejusts to Daytonas, Submariners and Explorer IIs...all the line have it.

Looks accurate for me, I like it.

Cheers,
Spirit.

Am I wrong by saying all new Daytonas have the triangle markers on the bezel instead of the dot then?

Cool pics of the Miami skyline, oh yeah the Daytona looks pretty good too. Let us know how it turns out and post some pics. I may want to get a Daytona in the future.

Thank you! I love living in Miami! I actually ended up having payment issues with the credit card company online from Hont so I ordered the same one from puretime.

Heres the link to the new one. I should get it sometime next week.

next order will be my IWC Big Pilot Platinum!!! Possibly the beginning of next week! I can't wait!

Glad you guys like it. I just got one myself -arrived yesterday. The watch is exactly the same as the one jhanson25 posted recently. I was a bit concerned when I saw how light the numbers (units per hour) were written on the bezel (or whatever its called). However, 12 hours later I love it.

It took a couple of weeks from ordering it till I received it. I bought it at Replicawatch88.

My wife got a little miffed when she saw it and was concerned that I bought a gen in these tight times. When I told her it was a rep she said "I want one". Even she said it was beautiful, and she doesn't normally like large chronos.

You guys know where I can get good reps for a woman? There seem to be very few available.

Miami local here as well.

One question:

I was comparing a daytona i got from Puretime with my friend's daytona (his is actually real), and the rehault (?? the cylinder around the face where the engraving is located ??) is about half as thick as on the replicas.

His casing is also very slightly larger.

Can anyone comment on this? I'd really love to get a white face/SS daytona (mine is the black face and solid silver subdials, it's okay but eh); but I really want those other inaccuracies fixed.

If you have a "working chronos" Daytona (powered by A7750), that´s the reason.
..The movement used on the reps, and the transfer system used to move the seconds to the 6 o´ clock position make it "thicker" thus needing a higher case to storage it. So the Daytonas reps with working chronos are very thick, and the rehaut is too deep.
There´s no way to fix it or to source a better one. All daytonas are this innacurate.

Also, the Bezel (where the numbers are engraved on the outside of the crystal) ....is more flat on the GEN, and very inclinated on the reps.

Only thing that you could do to get a better cased Daytona, would be to buy a a21j (cheaper, but still well done) that doesn´t have the working chronos.
...But then it would be leave the case innacuracies for getting a daytona with faux chronos. It would be your choice.

I have 2 Daytonas powered by a21j movements and I´m plainly satisfied with them. I don´t care about the working chronos, as I´d never used them on the A7750 rep too, since they´re a bomb waiting to give you problems if not properly serviced.
So, between the timebomb and the accuracy, I´ve chosen the accuracy.

Here´s a pic of mine:
DSC08833xRcopy.jpg

Hope you can notice the rehaut depth and how the bezel is more flat, there on the pic.
...and on the wrist, it´s as accurate as it could get for a Daytona. Best choice IMHO.
:)

Cheers,
Spirit.

this is the difficult choice...

working or not working chronos... that is the question...

For myself, I started with Daytonas last year, but just hold on right now for these reasons:

1) actual Daytonas :
_ Spirit made a good analysis. These errors and inaccurate things can be corrected by working on cases with a lathe and buying aftermarket bezels. Lot of work, lot of time. Time is money.

2) vintage Daytonas :
_ Non accurate cases (real one have assymetrical start/stop pushers), also faux chronos, etc. etc. bother me.
DW assembled and sold by member Spinmaster are actually the ONLY ACCURATE REP ON THE MARKET. But it cost 500-700 bucks
or, SUPER SUPERIOR ULTIMATE ACCURATE : Jewelery&Watch web site. 5.000 us$ minimum for a 6263.

Note : Here in Paris a gen 6263 is sold 50.000 us$ (40.000 euros)

So, for this moment I have 3 modded vintages and 5 light modded and waterproofed models 116520 , but I stop -waiting/ thinking/collecting money period to buy DW- as all I own actually is not 100% accurate (for people who knows a little)
