No, its awesome. Just wear it for a few days: its not a Luminor so it appears not that massive.

I used to own a 372 and it was my favourite watch for 2 years straight, so I don't have a problem with larger watches. But this one covers the entire top of the wrist, the strap doesn't bend a bit, it goes straight vertically down. I don't even see it when I look at the watch to read the time..I need a new strap, a beefy one, I think that will sort my problems

I guess this watch is supposed to look huge..I looked up photos of wristshots and I'm a bit more at peace with the size now Now I need to find a lovely strap without doing too much damage to my wallet

While you don’t get a replacement strap, tray bending the stock one to the both sides, twist it, it will became very soft.

I'll try that, the strap is very well made and I see it as one of the best options for the 687, it just works. Thanks for the tip!

I think its pretty spot on. The writing is now also fixed on this version. But I’m curious to the opinion of other members.

Yes it is very well made.
I’ve tried some straps variations but that one (at least for me) is the best so far.
I’m waiting for this one below to arrive. I bought it for my 687. I don’t know why but all straps I’ve seen so far that I like on this watch, has white or cream stitching.

I think that any custom strap with white or cream stitching would look very good, the stock strap has them too, it works well with the dial. On the other hand you can always ask the strap maker to use another color. I think I'll go for a Bosphorus strap, but I still haven't decided which one to get:
