Is the CLEAR sticker as opposed to CLEAN anything to worry about?

Hey all,

Complete noob here and I’ve just pulled the trigger on my first CLEAN Submariner rep.

I’ve receive the QC pics and everything looks great, love the watch! However, I noticed in the QC pics that the sticker on the bracelet says CLEAR instead of CLEAN. And also it doesn’t have the monkey on the rear that I’ve seen in most images, instead it’s what looks like an anime character (See example images attached)

I’ve read a few conflicting things on different threads. Some people say there are now “fake CF reps” which is beyond ironic and also hilarious in itself.

But other people say it’s nothing to worry about and CLEAN have infact been using these stickers for some newer models.

The clasp code is: F80
The serial is: 6R8259V6

I think that’s the info needed to verify?

It’s from a TD on this forum so I would assume I have nothing to worry about, and I’m just being paranoid, but it’s always best to be safe and sure right? If anyone can advise that would be awesome!

Thank you so much in advance,

It's from a TD (that's the most important bit), and you've seen it reported that the stickers are being seen on genuine fakes by Clean. So all should be good.

I’ve done some digging on other forums/reddit and it seems the F80 has been confirmed as being an ARF, which is awesome! Couldn’t see it in the “clasp code” thread 😊

Stickers are the last thing I look at when I try and verify the correct watch. They literally cost $.1 cent to make and any bozo with a printer can print a sticker. Clasp code, serial number, and most importantly, using a dealer you trust, are the most important things to verify.

It helps to remember that these Chinese factory folk (and their sticker suppliers) pretty much 100% have absolutely NO idea what the text on their labels says. Hence the old "GELENA SHITINERAND" and similar spelling errors on rep cases etc.

Haha very true! I have no idea what the anime stickers mean, but I think they’re cool as f**k!

Thanks pal, I’m excited to receive it! Really can’t get over how good the reps are, saved me dropping £10k for something I’d be too scared to actually wear! 😂

just out of curiosity.. why would you be scared to wear it? location (ie: London) or the confidence..?

never forget that it's the person that is the biggest tell.. it's not the watch itself. it's the person..

here's a tip.. wear the watch all the time.. wear it even in-house.. wear it so that it becomes a part of you and you don't even think about it/etc

it then becomes your watch and not a replica or anything.. service it every now and then and you'll be gucci

Multiple reasons,

The main one being that I live in London and they get robbed from peoples wrists when they’re sat in a car in traffic, let alone when commuting on the tube and walking the streets. I know I wouldn’t be smart enough to just hand it over either and would probably put up a fight and catch a knife to the stomach 😳

Secondly I’d be scared of scratching and scuffing it, which I know is counter-intuitive considering it’s original use a diving/tool watch. But I’m at an almost autistic level of clean and tidy and it would stress me out no end.

The person is the biggest tell, and I was about to pull the trigger on a real one, but realised how good these were and figured was it actually worth it? It’s getting harder to justify. I don’t think I’d have an issue passing it off as real, the circles I move in and the places I work no one would bat an eyelid. Which makes me enjoy the thought of conning them all 😉

But totally agree, this will definitely get more wear than a GEN would have. Then I can put the money saved towards a GT3 😉 (shame they don’t make CF reps of those)

I like the sentiment I read on here from someone saying that Rolex are the real conmen when china can come this close to it.

When you get to the level of needing a loupe or removing the caseback to inspect the movement, it’s pretty mind blowing!
