Is PAM 111 a worthy addition?

Hey guys, making a jump to the PAM section here! After getting a PAM for my first gen, the PAM bug has died a little since then.
It has now returned with a vengeance.

So anyway, I have a gen PAM320, and have a PAM243 on the way.

I have always wanted a PAM 111, but my question is, would it be pointless to get a 111 when I have those two already?

Thanks for your input in advance

No, it is not pointless. IMO, the 111 is so close to gen, it is a "must have."

The quality of the 111 is amazing, and super close. If you already own 2 gens, might as well get this one if you're not looking at another gen.

Are the lume of the hands and the dial supposed to me the same color at 50% darkness?

Everyone should have one in ther collection or group
My first rep was a111 which launched me in a downward spiral (bought more reps) it's a really beauty I don't like alot of the ther Pam's except for the 360 the 111 is amust have goes with everything there's nothing you can't like about the 111

I would get a PAM005 instead of PAM111 because of the OP logo on the dial and close case back.

Thanks for the input guys.

Looks like im going to get a Noob 111 V3 from toro after i get back form my easter break.

Also, i went to the Panerai boutique in Selfridges today, and asked about the 111 because I wanted to try it on - but she said that its out of stock pretty much everywhere, as they are going to stop producing the 111 next year.

That will make more valuable and appreciated our 111 replicas !!

Hi all,

This is my first foray into the world of PAM reps. I've been strictly a Rolex sub guy but what has been supremely frustrating about the Rolex sub is that its near impossible to get a close-to-gen sub straight from factory. In fact, the only truly Sub super-reps are the Frankens which have mostly gen parts and are very expensive and time consuming to build.

Anyway, the reason why I have started an interest in PAMs is because I have heard that the PAM111 is one of the best close-to-gen time pieces you can own (straight from factory no-less). This to me is very satisfying. Although I have to admit I didn't like the look of Panerai to begin with, I am starting to really see the beauty in the sheer craftsmanship and gen-like appearance.

I plan on ordering the PAM111 Noob V3 soon from puretime. What are your thoughts on the 177? Not as accurate?

Yes the PAM 177 is almost as accurate as a PAM 111, since they have the same dial the same movement and dispaly caseback. Just change the finish (brushed-polished) and the material (Ti-SS). Both are Super reps. But if you are very picky you should know that the display caseback of a.m. watches shows some evident flaws.

But the Super reps PAM world doesn't finish in PAM 111 and PAM 177. You have many other Super reps., even better in my opinion, and many First Class reps.

^ Ale thank you for that information.

I'll do more research on the super reps, I guess my standards are pretty low after staring at Rolex sub reps all day =P

Is the 177 also offered with the same "upgrades" as the 111 V3? I know the V2 and V3 have very subtle differences however I do like the deeper engravings on the back and the sharper CG inner-radius.

I think I actually am starting to really like the 288K also!

Purist don't like 177 because it is not "historical". I dunno know if the same attitude applies to the rep world, but judging from # of threads concerning 177, yeah it applies.
Less interest means less upgrade. Since the case is not interchangeable to 111, any upgrade to 111 (other than the dial & movt) may not carry over to 177.

288K looks a lot better in person.... just ask those who owned one

If you are looking for CG sharper inner edges and Deeper engravings PAM 177 N -series Noob have these mods.
CP is not always perfect but it is the same in some V3
177 N-series has Pre-V type hands

PAM 288 is one of the best rep of PAM ever made, it is a good choice too

Is that a 177 on the far right? The case looks brushed. Nice 288 BTW it really is a beautiful watch.
