......I am going to Hawaii in a couple of days for my Brothers wedding, so that should cheer me up.

Thank you to all of you who make this site what it is, which is much more than just
a place to engage in replica watch collecting.

Hambone mate, being recently married myself, I daresay I speak for most men everywhere since at one point or another we have all gone through the same blues.

I haven't forgotten that when I first joined the old RWI and posted in the meeting new members section, that you were one of the friendliest and most forthcoming responses. Alas, before I could reciprocate, my account along with my initial posts were lost forever to the 72hr worm hole.

There is no finer diversion than a wedding. Time will heal all but you may just meet that someone at that event whom even if not the person of your dreams, may at least offer solace in this trying time for you.

I wanted to write a few words as I especially wanted you to register the fact that while RWI may be evolving and some new bits may be unfamiliar, I (a newbie), nevertheless share your values, in particular the very palpable sense of community this place offers.

That Venice. Wow! Real estate is geting rather expensive due to conversion to tourist accomadation isn't it?

There was an exelent article on the subject of falling residential numbers and the fact the tourists are spoiling the place in National Geographic a cpl of months back.

What district are you in mate?

Col.
Castello. You would call em "sestiere" btw.
Venice is not a cheap place, yeah. But its beautiful.
I was once in St Marco square and a french tourist was sitting at a table arguing cos his cappuccino was in his opinion too expensive.
The italian waiter replied politely:"you didn't buy a cappuccino, sir. It's a cappuccino in one of the most beautiful squares in the world".
And he was right, damit.

I'm packing, for the flight which I always do at the last minute, knowing I'll forget something, like my iron lung, but noticed a few more posts here and I want to thank you again for the words. They can do great things when you need them most. Thank you, now it's off to Honolulu where large busted oriental exotic dancers will be thrusting their heaving bosoms into my innocent face. Just kidding, that was the old days. all it takes now is a good wedding and some waves, sun and the sweet air of Hawaii to make me feel that life is after all, pretty damn good.
