Is Genuine Panerai over priced?

I just wondering how people think about the price of Panerai.
Do you think it's worth to put the money in it or not?
Will people think you are fool to buy the Genuine Panerai?

They are grossly overpriced for what you are getting. That said however, they have proved to be good investments.

All luxury watches are overpriced. PAMs are overpriced, but then again so are Rolex. But at least Rolexes have very high quality inhouse movements.

Pams - in the watch afficionado world are considered - childsplay.

EXTREMLY overpriced. i love their great design -

german watch consortium rated Panerais like PAM 111 - price / value: EXTREMLY CRITICAL.

I couldn't stress more that Panerai watches are way overpriced... specially the hand wind models, they're astronomically overpriced $500 watches. :x

For me, yes.. I have a couple of gen Panerais. For others, no.

If Panerai watches were over-priced, then Officine Panerai would go out of business or lower their prices until they were no longer over-priced.

Supply and demand cure that up.

It is overpriced but it is good investment. Many of local AD at my place always sell these watches very fast. So no need for them to lowering their prices.

I think limited watch on the market is pretty damn smart stratage to jack up the price. Cause some people said the handwound PAMs are only worth $500 top, that's what confused me the most and worry about once I get it, the price will be dropping. They are doing pretty good right now, but how about the future. Dont get me wrong, I like it very much and I got one myself.

If it wasn't made by Panerai, an equivalent quality hand-wound watch with no recognizable brand name would be worth $500 tops... maybe that's what those people meant?

Or a modified rep. For $500 you can get a real stunner, not gen in any way except for the look, but neither highly over priced. The only Gen Panerai I would consider buying is that PAM you have on your avatar swissadict, that's a stunner.

a 111 has a nicely decorated 6497 - 2, with special finish and swan neck, but not even a balanced hourwheel.

the movement alone i would say is worth 800 - 900 $

the case and the rest..... a few hunderd. so, a fair price for the 111 would be .....id say 2500 $

i LOVE my gen Pams and i bought to enjoy it and nothing more. I bought my overpriced home in Southern California which im sure lost a sh*t of equity but i am enjoying it. my overpriced mercedes is definately had a depreciating factor once i drove it out of the dealer lot.

RWI (and your favorite dealer) make(s) it very easy to save the big $$$ and buy almost any PAM you want. Think about it, the money we would of dropped on more Gens is funding all the other cool toys we have.

Almost every watch to me is overpriced now that i'm here.
