Is a 38mm watch too big for a woman's wrist?

Hi, I just sold my Chanel J12 white ceramic, 33mm. One of the reasons is because the minute hand color pattern was off. The newer versions are correct. Also, I wanted to try the 38mm but I'm not sure if that's too big for a woman's wrist. I'm small boned, my wrist is 5 1/2" round, the 33mm fit me perfectly but I itch for a slightly bigger look.

Any women out there wear a 38mm? (Are there women out there? :? )

I saw Jacq (not sure of complete spelling) wearing 47mm fiddy...
I personally think 40mm is the max for a woman as beautifullly seen on Heidi Klum pic with Pam 40mm...

So 38mm.. I think any woman can do..

My wife used to wear the traditional women's sized watches (she has very small wrists). Then she tried on my 177 (44mm) and liked it; she has also liberated my EXI (38mm?). I think they look great on her. She wears them loosely like bracelets.

Very personal question. My wife wears a 26mm Rolex and loves it. I think a larger watch is fine she disagrees. It really up to your personal taste.

38mm will just look nice on your 5.5" wrists...

Big is beautiful :)

Well, I was in Saks Fifth Avenue yesterday, I go there every once in a while to see the new designer stuff and what ever I like I try to see if I can find it in a replica.

so I happen to walk by the Chanel Watch section and low and behold...the J12's!!!!! I gasped, they are sooooo beautiful, IMO. So I asked to try on the 38mm white one. The ceramic band was a bit 'different' then the J12 I just sold. Not bad different or too different, just very slightly different 'feel.'

AND to get to the point of this post, it did fit beautifully!!!! It wasn't too big, just big enough to look attractive. From jiro2085's photos of King's J12, the white band looks the same, I'll know when I receive it in person and go over there to compare. (I want to see the salesperson's reaction, I'll pretend I want a black one)

Thank's for everyone's help. It's always nice to have someone 'hold your hand' while making a big purchase. (it's alot of $$$ for me.)

you definitely can't go wrong with a big watch. I wear a 41-42mm navitimer, 44mm PAM, and the 44mm HBB. I can throw pics up if you want. I think my wrist is the same size as yours. Good Luck! :)
