I need a little help. The pearl fell out of my Joshua LV sub. After reading some posts I bought a new bezel insert from Raymond Lee online.

I have read many posts about applying the new insert with gorilla glue, 2 part epoxy and the like. But I have not been able to find any posts on how to remove a bezel insert that is not loose. It is just the pearl that is missing and I could not find it.

Any help would be very helpful on removing the insert without ruining the bezel itself.

Thanks for the help.

since your pearl is gone and you have a new insert from RaymondLee, you just pick the insert out by gripping on the hole where the pearl used to be. clean out the old glue and apply GS cement or gorilla glue or 2 part epoxy. Most likely you need to mill the insert from RaymondLee. Another way is to pop the whole bezel out by prying a strong razor blade between the bezel and the case. tape the case to prevent scratching it. be careful not to lose the click mechanism (it's a little pin with a little spring on the bottom, the whole thing sits on the 8 o'clock position on the case). With the bezel out, you can easily take out the insert. You then soak the bezel in hot water to soften the old glue. After cleaning, put the bezel on first. Make sure it turns and then aligning the bezel and glue it back. BTW, I hate RaymondLee's insert. I refunded it. Got one from Jewelery Outlet for $15. Much better print, much better pearl (a little yellowy but put some gloss on and it is very good).

Your best bet, other than the last post, is going to be to remove the case-back, then the movement, pop the crystal out from the back, then lift off the insert from underneath; if you're not looking to destroy the existing insert--always keep a spare.

Simple fact is, the new bezels are on tighter than Tom Thumb's ass and you'll warp them trying to get them off without one of these:

I even had one of these and it didn't work on the newer Subs:

Only use epoxy. Don't use Gorilla Glue--it gets foamy instead of staying liquid and expands 3 to 4 times its size. It can sometimes dry uneven to make the insert sit more to one side, or even start to seep out of the cracks three hours later, when it starts to expand. Not a good thing if you've destroyed the only other insert you had, trying to get it out...

if your pearl is missing a hairdryer will loosen the glue on the bezel enough to just pull it up.
