There have been several tutorials that covered removing watch hands. What is a the preferred method for re-installing them?

1. Make an appt with a modder....
2. Procure necessary funds
3. Go to Post Office and ship it and the funds
4. Wait
5. Wait some more
6. Retrieve package from Postal Worker...

Seriously though... there are tools to put the hands back on.... check the usual places to purchase them.... typically called hand setters....

i've seen rodico used for seconds and chrono hands since they are so small

Not a job for the meek, but do-able.

The right tools make the difference. Before I had the proper tools I used plastic hollow tubes to press them into place.
I would hold the hand over the pinion/hour wheel with a post it note. Not preferred method but it worked. The post-it's leave no residue like Rodico

If you are brave and derive satisfaction from doing it yourself, go for it. You can purchase a handsetting tool for just a few bucks. Rodico, tweezers, and dial protector are a must.

Oldecrow where are you??

Ditto.. nothing worse that screwing up a dial or even a set of hands by using some make shift tools. Believe me when I tell you that you dont want to be on the hunt for a set of hands. They are near impossible to locate when you need them.

Thank you all that replied. I wound up using a sticky not to place the hands onto the movement and pushed it on with the refill from a ball point pen.

I can't help but to recommend Bergeon hand pusher no. 7404-2. It costs more than other brands but this is... I can tell you, serves its purpose very very well.

Hands on ETA7750, no problem, on ETA28xx, no problem, ETA6497, no problem.

There's an entirely different universe beyond that black hole. A point where time and space as we know it no longer exists. We will be the first to see it, to explore it, to experience it!
