Picked up this the v9.5 from Andrew recently
Very happy with it - minor issue with a loose minute hand during shipping - reset the hand stack & I must say, it’s really is a great piece

Did you get it on the bracelet?

Ryan said he’s on back order about 40 days, so I just opted for the rubber :(

Got it on the rubber mate - seems to be a lot of watches (particularly Pam’s) currently back logged or out of stock ATM

the gen strap is definitely more stiff than the JF one. XF got the consistency right in that aspect. Even though nothing beats the texture (close up) of a gen strap IMO.

But a gen strap would need modification of the end links/plots as it would result in a big gap between case and strap...

JF is good on the wrist - XF even better regarding the feeling. Don't know if an XF strap fits the V9.5 perfectly fine. But the JF strap fits the XF diver - maybe that helps.

Just came in the mail earlier today.

I'm a bit annoyed by the space between the case and the plots. Is this normal? I don't remember my v7 having this... then again, it's been awhile since I had it.

You’ll see that gap on genuine divers as well.

the strap should be the least of your concerns. And in the end it doesn't matter what people around you think of your watch as long as you are enjoying it the way it is - as it is a beautifully build time piece for the money - even though it got its weak spots like any other rep.

The gap is the result of more flexible end links - this is one of the major updates of the V9.5 as it is more gen like. The gen feels very flimsy due to this feature - even if it is intended and has a purpose.

The V7 got a very stiff connection - i am also used to the V7 feel but the V9.5 tapers better around the wrist if you got a small wrist.

I too got the 9.5 and was annoyed with the size of gap( from photos of gens and even in person the gap is not as large) and also the movement of the links, so I made a very simple mod. I glued 2 very small pieces of shrink wrap to the end links. They close the gap a little but not completely which is what I was after, it also stops the strap felling so flimsy. I don't recommend this mod if you have a smaller wrist size than and 7" unless you have wide thin wrists. This mod is done with only superglue and shrink wrap and is completely reversible .

I have a Question about the Caseback and Variations on my 9.5:

The CB from the Factory was damaged, so after several months i finaly got a replacement today - and it is different then the first one. So i decided to compare different Casebacks now.

Maybe someone with more experience on how the Gen Caseback looks like can help me out? ( legend ?)

Actually i have 3 different silver Casebacks for AP-Divers at home:

rwi1j5kcr.jpg

First the CB of a XF 15706 V2:

rwi2wskf1.jpg

rwi32skl0.jpg

As you can see, the text is not that much raised and the inner area surrounding the Text is like sand paper of a very fine grain.

Next is the JF 15703 V9.5 Caseback that was on the Watch:

rwi4shklu.jpg

rwi52ej21.jpg

The Text is much more raised, the surrounding is like very fine grain.

3rd of my Casebacks is the New one - it was given to me also as JF V9.5

rwi6cij2o.jpg

rwi74mkro.jpg

Text is still raised as the last one, but the area surrounding the text is more sparkeling and like more coarse-grained

I would like to know, which ones are more Gen like.

Here is a picture of the Gen CB from chrono24:

rwi8loj0u.jpg

IMHO i would rate the 3. CB as the most Gen like, followed by the former 9.5 and the least one is the XF Caseback.

I would love to get feedback from others if they agree or if not, why they choose a different ranking.
