I'm in love with the Navitimer but need more info

Yes, the Breitliing navitimer is pulling this noob into the world of reps. But the world of reps still looks like a confusing forest to me. I can say I have read a great article on Breitling reps and another on Navitimer reps. But it is still not clear to me what is actually available.

http://www.hontwatch.ru/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=32_145&products_id=7542

I love this one in the link. It is listed on Hontwatch webpage, but another TD (the only one who has replied to me) told me it is discontinued and I have not heard back from Hontwatch. And it isn't clear to me which factory makes it anyway.

My questions, if someone is kind enough to answer them:
1. What is the best navitimer rep that is currently available (I like this colour blue but could do a dark blue)
2. If a watch is listed on a webpage, how do you know which factory makes it?
3. Do all the navitimer reps have fully functional slide rules?
4. Which TDs will reply to emails?

The best Navi is the Navitimer World made by BP. You have to ask the TD specifically "Navitimer World made by BP model A24322" When BP started making the watch posting the factory names was not popular. Here is a link to my research when I purchase two, The website links are too old to work, but the data is correct. Only use Trusted Dealers links from RWI, so you don't get scammed.

Thanks tkingjr it's an awesome watch. I was hoping for a light blue with white inset dials.... but... I am starting to learn in the watch rep world, we can't be too picky! And I think I could adjust my mindset to that one you showed. Since you praised it... I assume the slide ruler is fully functional and aligns properly?

In saying all of this, if there is some knowledge about the light blue dial models out there... and their quality, I would love to hear about them before I make a decision.

Really depends on the size you want. 41, 43, 46 are all going to impact which factory and colors are avaialble. All of them (that i'm aware of) suffer from the "sunken date wheel" issue due to the reps using 7750 movements rather than 7753's. Obviously if you go for the 41mm non-chrono version you can bypass this "tell" but then is it even a Navitimer w/o a chrono?

GF, KOR, BP, V6F, TF all make various models in various sizes and colorways.

  • All TD's should reply to your emails.
  • A watch is available only if your dealer says it is. All dealers get watches from different wholesalers. Contact them.
  • Do your research on who makes the best Navitimer. Compare the rep pictures to those of the gen yourself. Look for differences. Look up reviews.
  • Usually dealers include factory names in title of the listing.

I don't mind the sunken dial issue or other minor tells. I'm sort of a dial guy rather than a 1:1 accuracy guy. I know the dials I like. But of course, it would be nice if it was close enough, reasonably well finished and works fully!

I think I will make a list of models I really like, and factories I hear are good, before contacting TDs again.

Mind you Hontwatch does have this one (below) on his site and it says it is a 1:1 replica. Even if I take that with a pinch of salt, it must be pretty good. And it's my favourite dial. But no metnion of factory centrum. I guess they don't always list that. And even though it says this one is available I am not sure it actually is. I guess I need to wait to hear from hontwatch!

When buying any Rep watch, do your own homework. 1 to 1 means close.
Compare the pics to gen, so you don't buy a fantasy model that doesn't exist.
Check the model number
See if you can find the watch on Breitling.com or Breitling Source.com
Read as much as you can on RWI
Compare the dial, model number, and dial color to gen.
Are the sub-dials in the correct location
Is the diameter correct
The thickness will be slightly greater on most of the Reps.

Relax and enjoy the search for the best Rep

Excellent advice tkinger, though I can't find a matching gen model anywhere despite it saying it is a 1:1 match. Which is interesting. I will keep looking.

Thank you for the Breatling forum link. It will help a lot. I think Hontwatch has a typo for model number. Your original suggestion for that blue GMT model is looking better and better. It packs a lot of function in.

Does it have any slide ruler alignment issues and are all the sundials functional?

You have to be the judge of any alignment issues when you review the QC pics the TD sends you. If you accept the watch, you own it. My TD finds and fixes all the problems before I see the QC pics. The downside of her QC is my long wait for the little brown box to arrive. She is not the best choice for new members who want their watch now. I am happy if I see my watch in 6-8 weeks.

Hi, does BP still produce “Navitimer World made by BP model A24322”?

Is it this one?

I’m m new to Navitimers and reading through different discussions it seems that the BP 46 mm World is considered as the best Navi replica.

Out of 43 mm models which one is on top of the list? GF models?

The BP 46mm is no longer produced per Ryan at Intime. I verified this about 2 days ago as I too am looking at Navitimers. Good luck with the hunt!

I’m hearing from my TD that GF is not available now (raid?). So I think the only option at the moment is 41 mm KOR.

Why not get one from GF factory?

Looks pretty nice to me

I have recently purchased this navi for my father and he is very happy with it. He does not really care about being 100% accurate, so I have not been too picky on flaws. Honestly other than the sunken datewheel and the movement visible from the open caseback, I do not recall other inaccuracies.
Sliding ruler is well aligned and chrono works as it should

That is a good option!
I pulled the trigger on it and waiting for QC photos now. It is pity that BP 46 mm is no longer available. The only concern I have with KOR is that it is “only” 41 mm - can be a bit small for me (compare with 44 mm blackbird and 45 mm yellow avenger. Anyway let’s see when it arrives :)
