I read this on another forum and thought it might be fun!

Lets pretend for a minute that everyone was allowed to buy and drive only ONE single vehicle. You would have to use it for everything from going to the store to get milk, to driving it to work and when you are out enjoying your hobbies on the weekends...You know... if you like to cruise in the sun down past the beach with the wind in your hair, you might want to buy a new BMW 6-series converable, If you want to drive up and down twisty mountain roads you would probably buy somehitng like an AWD Audi RS6 or mayble a Porsche C4 all wheel drive sports car... but.. then you wouldnt be able to go mudding on the weekends... hhmmm... Maybe you just love 4x4ing and you live in Hickville USA. Maybe then you would build a hummer H1 becauses that still half ass ok on the highway if you want to drive to the next town for dinner. But if you loved to do landscaping for all your neighbors, they you wouldnt be able to buy a McLaren SLR would you? Ever try to get 3 bails of dirt and some shovels and rakes into a cramped supercar?

Do you get the idea? You need to chose the coolest car that will fit your current lifestyle and be functional for everyday use. Spend as much as you want!

Heres what i would buy if i could choose any one vehicleand you would own ONE only, that i would have to drive EVERY day for the next year lets say...

I travel a LOT on the highway on a weekly basis about 400km each way to my different job sites. A Ferrari would be nice but useless if i had to haul some boxes or tools...
There isnt lots of snow in the citys, BUT there is a lot of snow on the high mountain highways in Western Canada here so i would need something that can handle that.. So the Ferrari 599 is crossed off the list... haha.. But an Audi RS4 would be perfect..
I like fast cars muscle cars withgood leather interior. A 300c SRT8 is a nice version of that.
Sometimes for work i have to pick up orders from the wholesaler.. those can be many heavey boxes so any small car just wont do. I could get a nice new F350 or something but that would suck ass on the highway at speed.

I think i would pick.... A good performance sport utility.. powerfull.. sporty on the highway, can carry lots of stuff when needed and will get me through the snow in the Canadian winters.. My second choice would have been the new S550 Mercedes 4Matic

****Porsche Cayanne Turbo
perfect!

Lets see what you guys would buy if you could only drive one and were stuck with it.

this one!!! >>>>

ford_07fivehundred_angularfront_Reg.jpg

2007 Ford 500 SEL...With a "bulletproff" 3 litre "Duratech" DOHC engine, 6 speed Aisin auto tranny, leather interior, continental tires, and Volvo designed suspension...
it gets @30 mpg on the interstate, 22-24 in town, rides as "smooth as a prom queen's thigh", and has a seating arrangement that allows you to sit as high as if you were in an SUV.
And here's the best part...NO PAYMENTS!!...I bought it @20 months ago, in like new condition, with 13,000 miles on it for $9000.00!!..(It was an insurance stolen car recovery)....
It cruises at 80 MPH on the hwy, at 2400 RPM, and after an 8 hour ride, it doesn't "beat you up"..!
I am in my late 60's, and I have owned a LOT of cars, including Jag's Porsche's, Austin Healey's, a Morgan, and lots of GM and Chrysler stuff, but overall, Ford has been my "go to" car ever since my very first one at age 16, a 1928 Model A 2 door sedan...
So far, I have driven this one for @ 20,000 miles, and have changed the oil 4 times....THAT'S ALL!!....
At my age, cars are like women... The really fancy ones will kill you!!

And.....I don't have to dream!!!

That's an easy one for me. Audi RS4 Avant - performance, luxury, utility, good looks, AWD. What more do you need?

audi-rs4-avant-741207.jpg

Sorry, Dizz, but I've hated the Cayenne's styling since day 1. Lowering it and putting bigger wheels on it does nothing to help that. Too much SUV and not enough sports car.

I'd love an RS6 Avant type vehicle, as I'd like something slightly bigger than the 4, though I don't believe they ever offered the RS6 in a wagon. Nor have they ever offered the RS6 with a manual - something that is a must in a sports-oriented car for me.

+1 on the ride. But I don't like washing my car. I'd go with Silver Metallic.

Dude, if you can afford that beastie you do not wash your own car!

HA! I talked Dizzy around! :)
I need the space and the ground clearance.
the only other suitable thing would be the Rangie or of cause the mighty Lambo Cheetah:
Lamborghini_LM002_offroad.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Lamborghini LM002 is an SUV that was built by the Lamborghini automobile company between 1986 and 1993. Approximately 300 vehicles are thought to have been built. This was an unusual departure for Lamborghini who, until that point was primarily known for high-performance grand tourers and supercars originally began in 1977 with a prototype vehicle codenamed the "Cheetah" which Lamborghini had designed in hopes of selling it to the US military. The original Cheetah prototype had a rear-mounted Chrysler V8 engine. The prototype was destroyed during testing by the US military. This led Lamborghini to develop the LM001, which was very similar to the Cheetah, but had an AMC V8 engine. It was finally determined that the engine being mounted in the rear caused too many unfavorable handling characteristics in an offroad vehicle, and the LMA002 was built with an entirely new chassis, moving the engine (now the V12 out of the Countach) to the front. After much testing and altering of the prototype, it was finally given a serial number and became the first LM002.
Lovingly dubbed the "Rambo-Lambo", its aggressive styling and powerful engine made it a success for Lamborghini. Civilian models were outfitted with a full luxury package, including full leather trim, tinted power windows, air conditioning, and a premium stereo mounted in a roof console. In order to meet the vehicle's tire needs, Lamborghini commissioned Pirelli to make two custom, run-flat, tread designs.
The military version of the LM002 omitted some of the luxuries, and featured additions like mounting points for machine guns. The Saudi Arabian army ordered 40, each with the roof able to be opened like a hatch over the rear seats.
In 1988 Lamborghini sent an LM002 to a team of special engineers with the intention of making it capable of participating in the Paris Dakar Rally. They stripped it of anything that added unnecessary weight and gave it an upgraded suspension, engine modifications which brought it to 600 hp, full roll cage, plexiglas windows, and GPS equipment. Unfortunately, the money ran out before it could be officially be entered in competition, although it did participate in the Rallye des Pharaons in Egypt and another in Greece, both times driven by Sandro Munari.
Near the end of the LM002's production, a Turin based autoshop owner created a one-off "Estate" version by enclosing the back area and raising the roof. This added significantly to the interior room.
Lamborghini reportedly intends to produce a successor for the 2008 model year.

Now THAT'S an allrounder! Come to think of it, I'd probably go the Cheetah.
