excellent observation, Taka

There exists a very real opportunity for good profit, one only needs to find a company who will do crystals

another to do dials.. the initial investment would soon be amortized..

in the meantime, the sellers of vintage stuffs are smiling while they rape multiple buyers, and those buyers are

having facial expression of bliss.. lol

idea of selling ebay and to rep world simultaneously.. not bad, imho

:D

of course, rather than europe, one would look to asia.. for obvious reasons.. for dials/crystals

At the same time I am looking at date wheel projects. Have some connection in Indonesia for that.

and, NT Trading.. lol.. $400 for a dial that cost them around $25.00 to produce.. not bad..

That's the problem I have with those Singer dials they sell. And of course they always attach the word "gen" to it. Gen?? what does this mean anyway?

Clark's seems to have some of the best pricing on the crystals, around $15.00, that's a big savings compared to the other guys, of course it won't be a gen crystal.

Remember if you think it's genuine it is, if you think it's fake, it is. :|

 Cybee, at the moment, Clark is a very good alternative to gen Tropic. Anyway, why don't you write them an ebay message? They may still have them in stock.

Each Steps Brings This Watch Closer to What I Like (Comex 16

Today I have just done another mod on this watch. I made a mistake on the insert while removing the original Luminova pearl (not really visible) but after Tritium pearl installation, it makes a HUGE difference :p

More or less I am done with this watch ;) The idea is not to make a watch which is as close to the gen article as possible but a watch that can last many years to come (i.e.: daily beater). Have gen endlinks 580 and 93150 but I choose to stick with MBW endlinks and bracelet. solid midlinks are way to go IMHO.

I think that's a very important point to me. To get a watch which I really like and I will wear that watch.

Thank you very much for your kind interest on this topic :)

Not possible to duplicate this watch again  All mods is done by hand and there is the tendency to vary from one watch to another :p That again leaves lots of stories to tell.

PS: There are 3 people (and 2 of them choose to be anonymous) worked on this watch and many other suggestions from many other members/friends.

Is that the bezel insert you got today?

Looks much better.
Do you mean I can vintage a new gen pearl to look like that?

Yes nora, it's from today's insert  Thank you sooooo much. The pearl is real tritium and I am going to duplicate that look on the Luminova pearl that originally comes from this watch :) I will let you know the result.

Looks like you have smoked the pearl, like those processes to get cars´ tailights darkened...

Did you get it over a candle, or took it to the oven?
[Remember kids, don´t play with fire and use it only under parents supervision]

Looks awesome none the less, even if I´m not a big fan of Vintaged watches that much, you got me on that, fella!
Great work Taka!

Cheers,
Spirit.

Ha ha. It's an aging tritium pearl ;) No smoking required only need to wear them and time will tell.

To me, yes, this watch is very much better than out of the box. There are still plenty of rooms for modification nonetheless. This is very close but not yet there. Some put genuine 1570 movement, silver datewheel, 585 endlinks and 93150 bracelet and Tropic 39 Superdome.

Need to drill the spring bar hole too :)

If you touch that watch to mod it I will never talk to you again XD
Except for super dome, I love that one =)
I want your dial, I could kill for it.
