The 177 is a great watch.

Also hard to go past a 111H as your first Pam.

The 177 is the watch you have form Josh's link in your first post.

Most versions are avilable with either asian or swiss mechanisms, and priced accordingly.

It is also worth reading through the reviews on this board regarding the reps that are avilable that require the least amount of modifications.

Check out Davidsens offerings. His watches are mostly fully modded and ready to go.

Be aware of:

movements (asian vs swiss read up on this!)
cannon pin issue
lume
swan neck

All these will contribute to the cost. If you want the best, I can point out some things.

Here's what I would do.

1. Get the watch from Ruby

2. Get a Palpatine crown (if it's still available)

3. Have vaccum modify it or do it yourself (cannon pin fix and superlume).

4. If ya want to go further. Get a dagger and have that installed.

FYI, a Mod is a post factory modification to such things as the case, dial, hands, lume, cannon pin etc.

These are done my members themselves or other specialists to make the watch more like the equivalent genuine version.

My first pam was a 111H from River, I wish I would have paid a little more and got the 177H.
I'm very happy with it though! Let us know what you decide. :)

Is this possible? Do you know of anyone who sells the dagger regulator? Does someone like Frei-Borel sell it? Is this a Panerai custom part? or can it be ordered form ETA (like the extended pinion).

Thanks for any info.

Such a tough decision!

I started with a 183h from Joshua. LOVE IT! So damn close to gen, it's scary! Sent it to Vaccum for a cannon pin fix and a super-lume. This thing frickin' rocks! I've got about $500 into it so far (watch+mods), but I'm okay with that.

My next PAM came today - 005 from Davidsen. I'm about to post a dealer review LOADED with pics, but the font isn't that far off - damn near impossible to tell on the wrist. Comes with a super-lumed dial and a perfect cannon pin. If you don't want to monkey "out of the box", I'd look at Davidsen's offerings. If you want a "project watch" pick another dealer and then start working yourself or start PMing the likes of Vaccum.

Either way, it's a blast and I'm loving BOTH watches.

Best,
WD13

I haven't sourced it out yet. But belial2k is offering it for his watches. And I think certain model REPs come with a dagger. So with that said, I think dealers can get this part.

Getting this part won't be an easy task.
