I should add that I greased the seals only and tested 5 different Rolex dive watches including a vintage SD with plexi and they all passed to 3 atm which is roughly 100'. I have no reason to think they wouldn't have passed right out of the box.

I'm willing to give this a try with my $88 DSSD from Lay, but the crystal is misaligned (higher at 6 than at 12) - will that make a difference?
No expert here, but mind putting up a pic? I guess your question would all depend on how much pressure they use to put the crystals on. I'm guessing the gaskets would make it okay if there is enough pressure on the higher end of the crystal so long as there is enough pressure on the gasket.
I say just do it! Your probably bothered by the height of the crystal. By just diving in the water this will make you feel better if it doesn't leak... it's warrantied anyways. And if it does leak then at least you get a new one on the way... I doubt it will leak if you got it from Lay though.

went stupid brave and went to the hot tub, then the shower, then a cold chlorine pool, and to top it off, the high pressure STEAM ROOM
where steam gets in to the smallest cracks..
NO hev seals, nothing. rollie is perfect maybe its gen haha, going to dominican in 2 weeks, will go into ocean

I would never trust a Chinese dealer that they have properly greased the seals. BK maybe. Once I open the watch myself and silicone all the case seals fine I will go swimming.

It is true... I guess depends how long you've had it, but if you just purchased it I'm pretty sure. You can always PM him on his site... he'll let you know. So go on... take it for a dive! I know I would.

That is definitely very marginal.. mine is like that as well and I took a shower with it... Will dunk it on some water tonight.
mine is like that and I took it to the bottom of the deepend of a swimming pool, snorkelling, diving etc. no leaks!

Just got my Sub pro hunter from Lay. I could see the greased stem area while adjusting the time. Took two showers with it and no problems.
I must be missing something but everytime this comes up I wonder why anyone would even want to take a shower while wearing a watch.
Even swimming.. unless you're a diver (do that many people actually dive?) or a lifeguard who needs to know when his shift is over.
