Davidsen has a new case and spring loaded crown as well. The case looks quite similar to Angus. Maybe its from the same source. Just got this 111H from him. I modified the dial for a rep dial though.

The thickness of the crown guard us also very nice anf thick.

actually the biggest flaw with them is they need to be beveled on the edges a little more...

That and the fact that the teeth are too big and there are too few of them. That CG is gorgeous, though.

that is what i love about this forum!!!

i noticed everything but that! lol, now i see exactly what you are talking about.

@bklm1234

i think the gap between the case and crown has to do with the gen crown being spring loaded and the tolorances on the cg lever, how far it pushes it in when closed. it seems like from run to run they are not exactly the same. there is even one on their site showing the swiss made up against the 6 o'clock marker like a rep 111h and 177h. lol

i don't think anybody looks at this crap but us. lol

Yeah, the crown is too stuck to the case.

Vaccum actually helped me "create" some gap on my 176 which came with the same 2mm crown that Ruby carries... maybe he could do the same for me on this baby. He will probably have to grind some off the lever feet.

Or maybe, I will swap it out for Palp crown... this is probably the best solution ;)

The case is sourced from that "other rep case" factory, it's the same case PAM113E and 036MM you were able to source from Ruby and Trevor, come as.
The case is slightly odd, as its 0.5mm thicker (although the caseback is slightly thinner than one on a standard rep), corners are noticeably 'rounded' downwards, thicker CG and wider crown. It's nice but as many other guys here pointed out, not exactly correct.

Still, visually much nicer that case with thin crown and undersized CG.

Dial is thinner than both gen and standard rep dial, hence no requirement for longer cannon pin. They most likely made the dial thinner to compensate for short cannon pin 'issue'. Minute hand already comes with correct tube length.

Caution for modders out there, the dial is not interchangeable with the standard one duel to the case design, i.e. the groves for mov't case clamps are positioned lower, so if you were to install the standard thickness dial into one of these cases, you'd have some major problems. Both Vacuum and I managed to do that with 036MM standard dials, but I managed only after good 2 hours of pushing, fiddling, 3 case clamps lost in the process, lot of swearing etc...

I'd be careful with that mov't advertised as "swiss 6497" though, if I were you. 8)

cheers,
babola

I actually purchased the asian movement version (saved a few bucks ^^) but what is wrong with the movement pictured? It looks very similar to what DSN is carrying - well the decoration on the plates anyway - but I don't know much about movements.

I would, but I purchased the Asian version (198 dollar version) - not the movement pictured. Maybe some other member can help out - who bought one of these "ultimate" versions from Angus.
