Yes, i started with a 438 just because I want to know how a full ceramic watch feels. Than I bought a 111, than the 389 and the last one was a 176. I think my next PAM is the 127

389 is very tall, which makes it feel big. I like the slimmer 6152-inspired 47mm models: 217, 127, 372, etc. Everybody should have a 127 and a 390. Then it goes on from there.

389 is a big watch, but with a 7" wrist you can really pull out almost anything.
One of my all time favourites is the 390 though, polished case, tobacco dial and beautiful gold hands.

You guys are definitely making some good arguments for the 390. Still though, just strikes me as "meh". I suppose that is the elegance of PAMs I will soon come to realize.

Here is a breakdown of what you need (LOL):
1 44mm Luminor
1 45mm Radiomir
1 47mm 1950
1 47mm Radiomir
1 vintage
1 44mm Sub
1 47mm Sub
That seems about right as a balanced start.

Well.. I have a 312.. So there's that haha. But I think you just named every case combo less splitting the Luminor into 1950s and standard

Yes, PAMs are all about case types and materials as far as I am concerned. It is not really about complications for me.

Panerai is a helluva drug!
Wait till you get bitten by the Pre V bug...
And you'll find out why the base PAM's are mesmerizing.
Then vintage bug will get you...
And then back to Rolexes.
Gotta love this hobby.

The 47mm subs are relatively thicker than the other 47mm PAMs. If you like the 372, it's a great watch, as well as the 127. The 390/000/005 will be a nice addition since you like the 44mm Luminor base case, but would provide a different experience with the sausage dial versus the sandwich. I really like the 346/380 for a manual wind Radiomir, but the 388 would be auto and similar to your 312. A lot of members like the 243 since it's 44mm, a sub and offers easy strap changes. I also like the 297 on a bracelet or black strap. So many choices. Take a look at the daily PAM thread and see what speaks to you the most. For me, I love the simple elegance of the 44mm/45mm base case and actually prefer manual wind. I can wear a 47mm 1950s or sub on my flat 6.5" wrist without the lugs going over, so don't let that scare you if you find a model you like.

Have you consider the 622? It's my new fav. Love the simple look without the CG.

I'm always talking the same sh*t-Submersible!

But really, they are great watches, fits on a wrist so good no matter which one you pick. My favorite ones are 187, 382, 569 and 243, so most of them. :D However there are some great suggestions in this thread like 127 or 622. I wouldn't get 390 as it's missing a seconds hand which is probably the reason I couldn't bond with my 372.
