I gave it a lot of thought and I think there is nothing wrong with the current lume on the 082 from Davidsen. Simply C3 charged looks that green.

The fact that GENs behave the same way in the shop display, makes me wonder about this 'debate' .. C3 has a mint green look to it. Why do people want it to look like C1 which is white. Panerai doesn't use C1, they use C3?

The Pam082 was a Luminova, not a Tritium dial, so it should behave like any other luminova treated Panerai dial. The greenish, yellowish, white look is correct. It's only incorrect when you are dealing with older Tritium lumed dials. Seems to me you are complaining over the fact that the brightness of the lume on the dial is showing up in a daylight image ... when did that become a deficit?

my concern isn't that c3 turns mint green when it is charged. that is correct. my worry is that it is green all the time like my 195. i just ordered a new c3 dial for it and what i received looked like the lume on the dial of the 082. it didn't even glow like c3 although it was lighter green than the original dial it wasn't c3 and the font was worse than my original dial.

it has been sent back and we are waiting the arrival of a c3 dial. there is my concern and for me it is a genuine one. when c3 is not charged it is off white.

enzo, you know how bad i want this watch. i just want to see a reveiw of it so i can get a better idea of how it looks.

I'll be pleased to do some neutral studio shots when my 082 arrives. I can't speak to your 195 dial, but I concur that C3 should typically look a creamy off-white under daylight conditions.

However, under certain conditions a minty hue [sounds Seinfeldian! LOL] can be discerned. I had my 195 dial re-lumed w/ C3 by the same after-sale finisher and when I put the 195 side-by-side w/ the 111H (also C3'd) the 195 appears to have a more minty hue relative to the 111H's dial.

Go figure.

I certainly don't want a 082 dial that looks outright green when I get it - but if it conforms to the range of colour found on my exisiting C3 dialed watches, how can I be picky?

looks like shipment will be "on or around jan 22nd"

so it will not come in until the end of the month.

From what I have seen with gen pams at AD's some have them sitting directly under bulb others do not. those which I have held first hand did not have an green tint to them, ONLY the 111 series that I have seen has a green hue. I do not know why, maybe they made them like this.

I will happily do a charged to non-charged comparison.
