OK, as the story goes, I had ordered a PAM000 from Davidson about a month ago. As stated in a previous post, it had a number of issues such as a busted movement holder and the busted piece floating around in the balance spring, it had a scratched ar, scratched minute hand, and stripped lugs, as well as a few other problems. What it seems to me was I got a recycled movement.
Now bear in mind that I paid for a top notch rep with mods, and specifically with the fat crown guard, and the fat crown, davidsons special crown that has the spring in it to counter the crown guard.
Anyway I pay for a high end rep.
Well last week the replacement arrives, but canada customs put a $287 levy in taxes and duties on it, so i refuse the package. Well davidsen got it back and asked me to send it to a friend. I give my mates addy, and it arrives today. Well i go and pick it up and there is now roughly $125 levied on it. I say fuck it i want the watch so i pay the duty.
Well i open the package and i see the watch is a standard rep case, similar to what you can get for a hundred and fifty bucks from any of the other dealers. What starts to piss me off is that it dosn't have the upgraded crown, just a standard thin piece of garbage, and the crown guard didn't sit properly on the case, oh and by the way the crown guard wasn't a fat version but a plain jane skinny one with the lever so loose it flapped around like my dick in the wind. if you can picture this there was a millimeter of space on the top and bottom of the lever where it sits in the crown guard. tonnes of play. Well anyway i go to set the time and the crown pops out of the movement. WTF i say so i open it up, take off the crown guard and set it in place then go to put the crown guard back in and the bottom screw is stripped. ON TOP OF THAT one of the screws has a corroded head?????? now i have two watches on hand that i may be lucky to take to a watch smith to make one watch out of that will still have flaws.
If this is quality control then i would hate to see a watch that comes out with out any QC...
What a joke, i am out close to four hundred for one watch and another 125 for a second watch that is in worse shape than the first.
