Hey,

Does anyone happen to know the dimensions of a gen hytrel ring for a Date Submariner 116610LN?

I know the VSF takes gen and I'm trying to get an aftermarket one, rather than paying £100 for 2 rings.

AliExpress sells loads but I'd need to know the diameter, height and perimeter (I think).

If anyone has an AliExpress link to what I need I will love you forever. There are a couple at $20 but that's a bit expensive without being 100% certain it will fit.

I've used fishline as a replacement part several times. Its OK for there to be a break in the perimeter. It's a trial and error thing to find the correct diameter - between .50mm and .65mm is a good place to start.

You can also cut away part of an actual hytrel ring if it's crushed or mangled.

If trying fishline, start with a small diameter line and work up incrementally til an acceptable fit and function are achieved. It's possible to press a bezel with fishline in it that is too big in diameter to allow for bezel rotation. If that happens the bezel can be very difficult to remove (sometimes not possible). There is a workaround if this should happen but the repair will go much more smoothly if you don't get into this situation.

I've got 5 gen spec rings arriving but they will take a while to arrive because I'm in the UK. Gen is supposed to fit VSF. Mine is 116610LN so if it fits that it should fit yours.

Apologies for bringing this old thread back up - I’ve got a VSF 116610 whose bezel is not playing nice. After some investigation I found that the lip on the retaining ring is pretty high compared to a Clean retaining ring, and from the other threads I’ve read, it looks like the VSF doesn’t take a gen/aftermarket replacement hytrel ring? In which case, if I need to replace the current ring, which appears a little mangled, then the fishing line is the best option available?

You can get 5 on ebay for not very much. It was unbelievable how easily it went in and it's holding strong:
