Hello, I've been lurking for awhile, but this is my first post. I like divers, especially ones that have military history. My daily wear is a quartz Peter Blake and was my first "nice" watch. I've always loved the look and history of the Submariner, but refuse to play the AD's games or pay the obscene markup. I think the current sub is, at most a $6k watch, which even then is steep for me.
I went down a rabbit hole learning about reps, which brought me here. After doing my homework and a lot of back and forth, I pulled the trigger on a clean factory Cermit. The watch arrived a few days ago and honestly, its scary. I've owned "real" watches that cost significantly more and were not finished as well. The accuracy is also nuts. It's currently settled to around +5 spd which is way better than I expected.
All this being said, I've only worn the watch around the house. I find myself going back and forth between the notion "fake watches are for fake people" and "people who spend $13k on a Rolex are idiots when something like this exists." I apologize for the long winded introductory post, but I feel like I can't be alone in this sentiment.
