Thanks for your kind comment.Honest seller who sold this to you. It is indeed a V7X.
Uncapped - see the “hole” on the seconds in the middle of the hand stack? On a Gen Rolex that is “capped”.
TC delivered V7xs with both capped and uncapped seconds hands (rather inconsistently). Most likely a result of excess parts laying around. He wasn’t a massive factory - more a curator/engineer who sought to produce parts as close to Gen as possible.
And your answers. Very interesting. Would you have a picture of a capped stack to compare and so I can see what was omitted from mine. I’ve been looking at close ups of gems on chrono and still can’t see the difference.
I was buying cheapish reps from people on gumtree. I didn’t trust the we sites and I didn’t really know about this site and to be honest was too impatient to learn all about it. I bought a crap 116610. I pulled the crown right out trying to wind. then a crap yachtmaster42 the bezel insert of that got bleached by the pool. Then got a steinhart then saw the ad on gumtree saying this was a TC V7Extreme. The ad said if you don’t know what that is google it so I did. The guy was down in London and he sent it up to Glasgow. All smooth.
I love it but the irony is it’s a bit too flashy for work. I dont want clients to think they’re over paying me. I’ve got a nice old iwc from the 40s for daytime and the V7x is for weekends
Sorry for the life story. Lols
Here’s the iwc by the way. It’s gen and was much cheaper than the V7. £650 on any from Spanish dealer. I intend to be buried with this unless one of my boys nabs it first.
