Where I need to be.
The bracelet on mine is to small so I thought I’d add one of the 2 spare links that came with watch, whilst waiting to acquire a rubber strap, what an absolute joke!!!...I must have spent 2hrs this afternoon (and still not done!!) try to put the long screws back in...they seem to go halfway then stop!!...is there a specific way to put them back in??...I almost took a 4lb lump hammer to the thing!!!

Patience is key.

3 Easy steps

1. Align the plots on the bracelet and the case and put the screw in slowly. If you encounter resistance, do not force it. wiggle the screw around until you feel it being able to go deeper. Once only the elongated "head" of the screw is visible, you may wish to use a screwdriver to rotate-push it the rest of the way, if necessary.
Then put the cap on the other side and ensure the screw bar is firmly in place.

2. Go take a break after this, congratulate yourself, scream "yahoo! I did it!" over and over at least 50 times while running round the block aeroplaning your arms, and smack a random stranger on his back while exclaiming "Guess who changed an AP straps today?! Me! Me!"

3. When you're done, repeat step 1 for the other end.

I understand what your saying, but what your describing is for the rubber strap, which hopefully iv got coming in a week or so, what I’m describing is for adjusting the links on a bracelet, iv tried and tried...and yep your right, patience is what’s needed,...I could of walked to Timbuktu and back from UK the time iv spent on it...lol...the watch I bought was used, and on a bracelet with 2 spare links...they’ve come off therefore must go back on!!!!!!they must!!they must!!!..lol

Wait a minute.
If you are attaching a bracelet, there should not be any long screws involved. Instead there are 4 screws to attach 2 sides of the bracelet.
Show a pic here please, of the watch/bracelet and screws. I will guide you along.

The watch is at home and I’m at work, will post some later for you, what I’m trying to do is add the 2 extra links that came with it to the bracelet so it’s longer and fit my wrist as it’s to small, when I try to put the long screw through the link it goes approx halfway and then that’s it, iv even removed the bracelet from the watch, ( which as you said is easy with the 4 screws), I just cannot seem to get the screws through the links to extend it...weird as the SD43 iv got works on a similar principle...long screw through 1 side , then through the existing link already on the bracelet then it screws into the other side...simple on the RLX...

OK now I understand.
Now for the bracelet, it should not be a long screw between the links.
It should be a small screw, and a metal rod inside. You loosen the screw, remove it, and then push the rod out through the opposite end.
Like I said, a pic will help but I have never seen a long screw with a modern AP bracelet. Either the connecting screw is wrong, or the links are not correct.
Do yourself a favor and unscrew one of the existing link and compare the one which came with the extra links. See if they are the same.
Best you send a pic with the links, bracelet and screws when you can and tag me.
Something is wrong in the equation you are on, and we can find out what.

OK I see your frustration now.
So 2 questions

1. Are the screw rods in the other links ALREADY on the bracelet constructed the same way? (Basically one long piece)
2. If so, can you try one of the screw rods which already fit, for this new link and see if it fits?

If it fits, then the issue is that the rods for the extra link is too thick, and what you need to do is to gently dilate the hole in the bracelet before trying to fit it in again. I surmise that the extra links do not come from the same factory/model? Will like to ask you to try 1 and 2 before going further.

What you describe here seems to be the answer to MY problem trying to attach new rubber strap, I cannot get the bar screw through all the way, the bar that connects the two silver links to the watch case, the bar gets to a certain point then REFUSES to go further, seems to be the point at which the bar end has passed through first silver link/connector and is about to enter case hole, but will not align......VERY annoying, I too tried patience and wiggle jiggle but gave up, will take to a watch smith before I end up bending the bar using force.....out of pure frustration.....arghhhhh!!

There is a knack to it sir. Before adding the straps to the equation, you may wish to ensure that the bar fits through the plots without issues.
Then you add the straps and if that is where the difficulty begins, the issue is caused by the straps, as per simple logic. You can gently widen the openings on the rubber straps a little, and do the trial and error wiggle. I have encountered these issues a few times over the years but did not have an issue I could not eventually resolve.
