Yes, I need to try acetone but it's a restricted chemical here, therefore I need to ask a friend to order it for me.
Wiz,
If you can get fingernail polish remover, then you can get acetone, they are one in the same! Go to a drug store and buy some finger nail polish remover and give it a try.

Wish I had read this post instead of only watching the vid. I would have tried the acetone instead of screwing up a couple markers.
Wiz you def do a great job of walking us through these I would have never tried this had I not viewed this post last week.
Cant wait to waterproof when I'm ready.
Thanks for your effort Wiz.

A friend of mine got me some acetone, so I now use it along with an ultrasound cleaner. It works fine and it's safer than the scalpel method, which requiers a more steady hand.

Interesting regarding acetone and an U/S cleaner

did you use neat acetone in the cleaner?

neat means pure, without any other additions to the fluid

Ohhh, and U/S = ultrasound. Thanks, I get it now :)

I don't fill the cleaner with acetone, I fill it with purified water and put a becher that contains pure acetone in the cleaner.

Wow really nice! I'm going to do this as well. May I ask why you wear a mouthguard? (don't know the word;)) Is it dangerous breathing rep lume?

Awesome video Wiz. A few questions....
-what brand of white paint did you use? Will any white paint work?
-does the lume reduce in volume when it dries?

Looking forward to your pearl relume vid. Thank you so much.

I used enamel model paint, but I guess any paint that is not water-based would do the trick.

Wether the lume reduces or not depends on many variables.
