Without bringing to a jeweler? I don't have a ruler lol. Any guesses? I'm thinking NATO.

Buy a freaking ruler. Or go to IKEA, they have paper rulers for free.

Okay let me take off time from work and head on over!! I'm more likely to buy 1 in every size. But now I'm worried, can I put a NATO on this?

looks like it would take a proprietary bracelet or strap

+1. Take the bracelet off and find out, but I agree with Cynikal here.

And you could use one of those online rulers that formats itself to your monitor/resolution, if you're really in a pinch.

Buy one of these from a local hardware store or online for 10$ or so

Place on strap or between lugs on watch like this.

Read number on dial.

Job done! :)

Sent from my iPhone because I'm such a addict I have to keep on here even when I'm not home.

That's true, I have a set of $10 calipers sitting beside me for that sort of stuff. In a pinch though, ruler works alright.

Buy a ruler. It will transform your life. Before you know it, you'll be able to draw straight lines. IMO, they're a classic invention.

Is the lug size usually half of the case size? Say 40mm Sub, lug is 20mm; 42mm explorer, 21mm lug.

Hmm, I wouldn't say usually. 44mm PAMs take a 24mm strap, 46mm IWC is 22mm, 50mm U-boat is 23mm (I believe, could be 21mm), etc. Best to just measure or google it, unless the watch is extremely obscure it's not too hard to find out.
