The oldest one is from 1998, a shitter than shitter quartz submariner I bought from an old man who was selling Zippos in Itaewon Seoul. That shit has nothing that looks like a sub, silver printing on the dial, shiny lugs, oversized flatted bezel etc, it was not even made of SS, it was plated brass that looks like SS. Bought it just for fun.For fun and maybe data (?), especially for senior members: How old is your rep? How many years have you had it, and if possible, from which factory did it originate?
PICS!!!! I love seeing these old distorted monsters! The oldest one is from 1998, a shitter than shitter quartz submariner I bought from an old man who was selling Zippos in Itaewon Seoul. I need to locate that thing first. After so many years of moving, it might lie in some boxes at the back of the garage...PICS!!!! I love seeing these old distorted monsters!
Wow! Yes it is! This is 95% the same as mine! All memories with this thingy come back...I can help with a picture. This is from the early 90's.
It is the famous, no longer made "Datejust submariner" with the special raised (not printed) oversized crown on the dial. There are not many left in existence. Believe it or not, I took this diving and lots of other activities and it is now pretty beat up. It keeps good time though but that might be due to the quartz movement!!
Joking aside, it is this watch that got me into 16610 models which I really like. Seeing the developments from this to what we have now, over the years is really interesting.

I started to think this kinda plated sub is a shared memory from the 90s.Hi. The first I bought in 1991: a Sub in chromed and nickel-plated brass equipped with a Miyota auto movement . I threw it in the garbage because, after an almost quotidian use, there was a lot of visible brass . The movement was still perfect . Greetings .
Mine is plated - quite worn, here are a couple more pics I found of it:I started to think this kinda plated sub is a shared memory from the 90s.
This is the thing. Not difficult to find in many places in Seoul, mostly Itaewon and Sindang Dong for USD 20-30.Mine is plated - quite worn, here are a couple more pics I found of it:

2 different but the same popular reps back in the 90s. I think yours are at the upper hand since mine and the above one are quartz and plated, not even real stainless steel.Hi. It’s strange … because it seems a quartz movement… That I had was equipped with a Miyota mechanical automatic movement . I remember very well that this my actual friend offered me the quartz version at € 50,00 and the mechanical automatic one at € 100,00 and since, as is known the genuine one was and is mechanical automatic, I chose that one. Bye .
