How can I forget about Olech & Wajs! Good watches. Hamiltons are also nice, but I don't have one unfortunately. I also own an International Watchman too :)

example: US$300 Seiko vs US$300 Rep. I'll vouch that the Seiko outlasts, outbuilds, and is usually rated a true 200m for diver watches...
Here's another example. Imagine you had $200 and wanted to buy a watch. You show me one genuine new watch as good as what you can get as a replica.

... and don't forget my brand new Seiko Diver turned out to leak before you suggest that. :D

My Citizen Automatic Diver is working perfect now for 5 years, including open sea diving, motocross, construction-use and the wildest parties. I paid 170$ :D

Depends on the watch, the movement, and the authenticity.

If it is a watch I'm really jonesin' for, and it is really spot on (99%) - I'll spend some money. The good thing is there are really few I'm really jonesin' for and if it's not almost perfect and in my budget - I don't have a hard time passin.

There are very few watches on my 'list' right now.

111h, 112 or 005
Railmaster (not the HUGE one)
Vintage Sub or SD (double red, COMEX, etc)
Speedmaster, Tudor chrono, or other chrono
F.A. Jones
212 or 253
Explorer I

In that order & and if I got 1 or 2, I think I'd be done...

For me its $300 all in if I really 100% love the watch and must have it.

But I try to stick to around $200...

Why ? - something better in bone-stock will come out soon anyways :) Always better and cheaper...

I think perhaps in a few months or a year AR, saph and pin will be much improved on PAMS...better stock dials...no real need to mod...

My first rep, purchased on one of the forums, was a Swiss Rolex LV and I spent $700 on it. At that time the Rolex reps had lots of flaws and problems. I payed the extra to have it modified so that it looked more accurate. It looks just like the LV from TTK. At the time it was not possible to buy a rep that looked that good though. I kick myself for that quite a bit. I can never get that much out of the watch if I tried to sell it and I get frustrated every time I wear it now, because I know how much I forked over for it.

I don't think I would ever spend that much on a rep ever again.

I think my max on a new watch would be about $300 and I only say that because that is the average price of a Davidsen PAM. If he was selling them for $200 that would probably be my max.

On a used watch my max is probably $200 and that is only if it is modified or in excellent condition.

350 USD tops for a rep (a rep is a rep) and there's always something that needs to be improved.

When I pay $300 for a rep, I'm thinking this is not just for the materials and skilled labor for the rep, but also the risk for manufacturing them. Understand that though factories are plenty, IP authorities are still cracking them down...
