rich client & Wall St broker only - and a titty bar!
In a year it's only happened twice: once from a sell-side broker in NY (who owns 2 gens and a couple of other more expensive pieces, Zeniths ... good bonus that year!)
And another time when I had lunch with a very wealthy client, who picked it out at the end of lunch when he was getting bored, "Hey, where'd ya get your Panerai?!" [awkward, and this comment sent me into Tourneau's next time in NY ...]
He was wearing a ~ $40k yellow gold Patek complication at the time, and said he owns one Panny and some other nice watches ... I got the impression he owned the Panny because it was trendy to do so - but he
really liked his PPs.
Nice to see how the other half lives for an hour! LOL
BUT my all time fav moment was when wearing my best 1950 and I was in a titty bar, up by the dance floor, and the busty-but-slim (yay for plastic surgeons) stripper looks down and says archly: "that's a REALLY big watch" to which I had to say, "and those are REALLY big - but firm - tits!" We were both pleased with our investments!!
